All I really care about is seeing a Kill Bill Blu Ray without excessive DNR and EE. If they can manage that, I'll buy both versions

Tarantino films should be very grainy.

So the listing is not a misprint and accurate. I'm not saying that this is 'The Whole Bloody Affair' edition. What I'm saying is that its a good possibility that these are unedited for violence.

You may be giving Amazon customer service too much credit.

If they stated "I have checked our website" it sounds like the basically looked at the same potentially incorrect info on their website that you were looking at.

Not a rumor; you can buy a copy of that version. The Japanese release of Vol. 1 is more violent, and among other changes is all color in that sequence. This has nothing to do with The Whole Bloody Affair (which Disney can't release anyway); it's just an alternate version of Vol. 1 not released in the U.S.

A direct quote from Friday's "The Digital Bits"..........

"In other release news, we've confirmed that the Buena Vista's Kill Bill, Volumes 1 & 2 Blu-rays (due 9/9 - SRP $34.99 each) will be identical to the previous DVD versions, including The Making of Kill Bill, Volume 1 and The Making of Kill Bill, Volume 2 featurettes, musical performances by The "5, 6, 7, 8s" and Chingnon, and the Damoe deleted scenes. You'll also get trailers for both films (the bootleg trailer for Volume 1 and the teaser for Volume 2), along with Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown."

Personally, I think the films work better as seperate experiences. When Vol. 2 first came out on DVD, I watched both films back 2 back on one night. It dosen't work for me as one long movie. The pace of Vol.2 is much slower than Vol. 1. Ideally, in any story, you want the pace of your film to excellerate as it unfolds and reaches it's climax. I was really pissed at Tarantino when I first heard that he was splitting this film in two. It turns out to be, IMHO, a stroke of genius.

I completely agree. Despite all the anger directed about Kill Bill as two volumes, the two movies are significantly different, with very different pacing and themes. I also find the black and white works as an artistic choice, making the blood look MORE realistic than when you can see the color of the fake stuff. As a huge Kill Bill and Uma Thurman fan, I will own all three of these BDs (vol1, vol2 and the whole bloody affair) when they are released as it is interesting to compare and contrast them.

i preordered these before the price drop and would have gladly paid the old price but rather have it for the updated price. I chose free shipping cause i just got a 01 volvo s80 and need to save to put in my system then afterwards required to take my car to the dealership to remove the code for the factory deck.. they charge 120 for that and it will take five minutes to do.

in regards to everyone complaining about the b&w white scenes well its not far from typical qt style i mean he likes to use b&w scenes and animations look at natural born killers which was written by him but directed by oliver stone similar art style done by qt.

'Kill Bill' looks amazing on the Miramax blu-ray promo that is located on the 'Nixon' blu-ray. If that is any indication, it should look great.
