I got it!!! I had it delivered to work and went to pick it up tonight, and it wouldn't fit anywhere in the car!!

I found someone with a SUV willing to haul it home for me.

I still have to calibrate it, but initial reaction is great!!! I set the x-over at 80 and the level at 3/4, which sounds really good until I get a chance to dial it in. I might actually have to set the level lower. My polarity is set at 0 right now, and I haven't touched it yet.

It is great, I will post more reaction later....

Edit: Flipped the polarity to 180 and it sounds a lot more precise now. I will have to dial it in more when I can sit down and do a calibration.

I know corner placement isn't really recommended, so I will have to move this around a bit....

Sorry about the cable mess too, I was excited.

Oh, and I just got back from a Gatlinburg, Tennessee vacation today!

Popped in Transformers, and was BLOWN AWAY. I love this sub!

Here are some more shots of the sub.

I have mine in a corner, and for many, corner placement is the best choice for AQ (output, response). Some have different opinions. I like mine in the corner.

Is it the Blu-ray version? I still want to try Twister and see what happens. I've been impressed with every movie I've played thus far. Music seems like music again.

I thought it sounded fine, but I will try other positions to see if it is any different. What do you have your x-over and level set at? How is it treating you?

I have the sub volume at around 3/4 volume. Just for the hell of it, I have the x-over all the way. Yeah, that's right. Completely turned. It doesn't matter too much because all of my other speakers are crossed at much lower levels on the receiver.

I played it by ear and ended up with what you see above. I will dial it in, but this sounds great!! It is about 70Hz on the crossover and close to 3/4 on the level. Of course YMMV....

I haven't messed with the phase and I also set it up by ear. I'm sure it'll be alright though.

The phase was pretty dramatic for me, almost like the sub was hitting at the wrong time...

I'm confused. Why wouldn't you set it up higher? For one, aren't you rolling off between 70hz (what your sub is set at) and 80hz (what your speaker crossover is set at)? I am still new to this stuff, but it was my understanding that you wanted to protect against losing some frequencies. Also, wouldn't your receiver settings override this anyway?

Congrats on the sub either way. It looks completely badass.

I ended up turning the x-over on the sub all the way up and letting my receiver do all of it for me.

Edit: I set the receiver at 80hz

If there is a discrete LFE track information being sent to the sub, wouldn't anything over 80hz (for example in the 80-120hz range) be lost? Or have I totally got it flipped? I'm confused.

I believe that anything over 80hz is still being handled by my fronts, center, or surrounds. There is x-over settings for each on my receiver, and they are all set at 80hz. I probably need to dial that in, but it was at 120hz for all of them by default and I thought I would turn it down a bit.

Just ordered 1 for myself today- probably putting the cart before the horse by buying this before upgrading my Athena Micra-6 speakers.

I may be missing something, but from looking at the photo of the back of the sub above, how should I connect it to my Onkyo 705? I currently have a single-plug cable connecting my sub's out to the subwoofer single input on the receiver.
