Eh, it's probably on the audio/album version. HBO pulled this same stunt around the same time with the DVD of Robin Williams' "Live on Broadway". Thankfully I did make sure to save those snippets
Still MPI, so I'll bet it's the same.

I understand what this person means. Why do we need a Blu-ray release of this. There's not really a need for it. Besides, these aren't recorded on film.

There's only one Blu ray disc, 1 CD, and 8 DVDs.

$72 (though it will probably come down some eventually) is a lot to ask for a mostly-DVD set.

a word of caution, just got my dvd set delivered, and the trays that hold the DVDs have really flimsy plastic so I'm pretty sure each tray has cracked tabs that won't hold the top disc, 2 discs to a tray. Really disappointing. If you hear rattling around before you open it, I'd caution on returning it if you think it will be a problem.

each tray with 2 discs:

turning tray and top disc falls out

Thank you very much for the warning. This is why I was concerned with the packaging of another box that's coming out. That label was honest enough to admit that they package their BD sets much better than their DVDs.
My luck has been very good lately, I can only hope it's not about to run out.

It doesn't seem like the discs will fall out of the tray if you have the box set on the shelf vertically in the slipcase. Just a problem when flipping the trays.

I don't collect DVDs any more but a Carlin set is the exception. I did not get his last DVD collection but will spring on this one. So much love for Carlin, RIP!

Thumbs up

Mine arrived in perfect condition. Packed in a nice sturdy box, there is nothing wrong anywhere.

My case was cracked on a few disc inserts. Had to ship it back... WTF would they create such a poor design? They are going to have so many returns.....

For that price, they could've easily put all the DVD stuff onto two Blu-ray discs, thus making this a four-disc set. A much more user-friendly solution.

I really want to get this set at some point. Don't understand why everyone is complaining about only one Blu-Ray. Frankly, I'm surprised that it's not just all DVDs.

If they're going to charge that kind of price for DVD's they should at least have better packaging. Cheap @sses.

I'm curious if any of you folks compared the New DVDs to the old ones in the previous Two (2) Collections?

I have George Carlin Collection (2001) and the rest as single discs. I noticed this new collection has Two or Three Shows per Disc. Are they noticeably compressed?

Are the Bonus Discs Material on "George Carlin: All My Stuff" (2007) on this new set?

Basically does this New Collection have everything from the previous Two Collections?

Thanx!

That's a shame, "All My Stuff" has a really wonderful case that I wish all multidisc sets had emulated. I was already thinking I would keep that case and swap in these discs, as needed.

I don't have it yet, so I can't say for sure, but given the length, I do think it's possible to fit multiple shows on one disc; the "All My Stuff" box set was just compiling the single-disc releases, but there were prior releases which doubled them up.

There were two bonus discs on "All My Stuff", both interviews. "George on George" is listed on this new set, but "an exclusive 75 minute video interview with Carlin that was taped in April of 2007 as part of XM Radio's Artist Confidential series" does not appear to be included.

It does have all of the major stuff which was omitted from "All My Stuff"; "George’s Best Stuff" and "George Carlin Personal Favorites", both of which include footage not available in the specials, and "George Carlin: 40 Years of Comedy", which is an interview he did with Jon Stewart in Aspen (which I think also includes some performance).

So this basically supplants "All My Stuff", except for the one interview disc.

Thanx so much for the info. My ADHD sometimes makes it hard to figure these things out.

Is this the missing Interview? It says 2008 here:

I'm still in the process of a cross-country move, so I'm on one coast and my DVDs are on the other, so I'm sorry but I can't answer that right now.
