yeah, it will look pretty sweet having an all matching set up. Those bronze woofers look sick. I think if I had them I'd never put the grills on.

Give some other subs a listen. No harm no foul right? When I purchased my Klipsch's I was dead set on getting a Klipsch sub (RW12-d or 10-d). While I was saving up I listened to some subs and went another direction. I won't try to talk you out of your choice, or into another, but it'd be good to have a feel for what different subs do sonically. oh and its fun

edit: I also found that in going out and listening, you will speed up your purchase. Double Bonus!! and it doesn't keep you from getting the sub you have your eye on

I like the bass that comes off the synergy sub-12 better than the reference 12 klipsch makes.

I just like the sheer madness of the sub 12.

The reference model seems subdued it's a more punchier bass.

Please at least try some other subs, there are so many others with better performance for the same or less than klipsch. Klipsch is not known for subs...

They may not be known for subs (i tend to ignore that type of thing), but the sound they do produce might be what he's after... If that's the case, then they make the sub he needs.

I am not that much as expert in subs but I do notice that it is usually best to look around and not tie your sub to your main speaker brand. Often best to look at those companies that specialize in them.

Just look at people that have very high end speakers, they don't always go with a sub from the same brand. For the money, their are probably better brands of subs then B&W even though they make great speakers. I think you will find many B&W owners with different subs.

So keep an open mind, love your Klipsch but try other subs if you can.

I know there's alot alot better subs out there , theres alot better everything out there. I know its me , I have heard alot of different subs , but I always go back to the Klipsch . I like them , plus in my room size does matter, actually I'm using a Klipsch RW-10 and its quite impressive with the RF-82's, But I just wanted to go a bit bigger so I will go with the RW-12d in time no hurry , other things 1st, ( also going this route I get to trade in my RW-10 in on it and it pays half the bill,) So this is a factor for me , thanks for the ideas though,,

yeah thats a nice way of putting it ,, But I begged to differ on the 1st thing as for subs ,,I use to have the old Klipsch KW-15 ,, this thig was huge , 15 sub in front and 15 passive radd, in the back , 400 watt amp , ran this with a pair of Klipsch KG-5.5 towers , dual 10 " woofers and horn for music. the 1st time i hooked it up , I played metallica , and blow the gas seals in my rear windows the pressure was so deep. I had to open the door or windows to really play them ,so i think that sub was amazing . Sold it to a friend at work , he still use's it today . he also bought my 5.5 towers to ..LOL Still kickin after 8 years. that means alot to me about Klipsch.

That was a different Klipsch back then (as was Infinity, and JBL also). I had an encounter with said subwoofer in Rota Spain - with Klipsch LaScalas (the Exchange had them under-priced at $750.00 a pair - wife wouldn't let me jump on'em had just bought a few amps and a Denon receiver as a preamp) The exchange was carring the entire line now known as the Heritage line back then. The new Klipsch just have a different sound as do the Infinity Speakers (Mr Nudell was a genius - Infinity made a mistake by letting him go). The new Klipsch are fine - but if you really want to hear a Klipsch - you've got to go to the Heritage line. Anyway - yes, it was impressive, but the new stuff like I said before - is just different. I would like to hear the Icons series vs Heritage (-Khorns) and Palladiums vs Khorns. It would be...interesting .

Oh my , I agree, As for me I bought my 1st pair of Klipsch KG2.2 in Naples Italy AV-South ( Navy Ex-change) And belive it or not I was going to go with the Infinity's too ,but thier was no bass to them , And the guy said what about these , he switched the box and I said wow whats playing and he said the klipsch they sounded amazing for a small speaker, I said quit teasing they probally cost more than I have left for speakers , I also just bought the Kenwood Amp & Pre Amo & cassette deck ( CD 's were'nt even thought of then LOL) I wanted the Nakamichi Dragon cassette deck so bad , My buddy got one , cost then was like $900.00 any ways that was the my 1st klipsches; . My self I always wanted the Chours line , But yeah your right I got my wife to listen to a pair of Cornwall's back in VA, when we got home she said they wer butt ugly but they sounded amazing, but she would'nt buy them for me either LOL, them after the navy , being home out shopping i actually got to here the Klipsch Horns for all thier Glory in Rochchester NY , a small but awsome stereo shop , Now the wife said if she had the room they would go home with her, Go figure,, LOL they are a( Lost for words ) to amazing.. but hey life goes on .. I like the new stuff pretty well , & yes they have a different sound ,but I think it works with todays digital audio better, and movies , so all in all it's still KLIPSCH....Have a good one.

Kappa 8's and 9's .... One Ohm load amp killers!!!! You better bring the juice with those. My current Infinity's are 4 ohm speakers - they like to drink it up too! They are only used if something goes wrong with my Snells. I've only had it happen once - but its good to have a back up array of front speakers
