Right this second, knowing you don't care about 2.0. The Denon 3800 is the best available (Marantz is essentially a clone)

I took my Denon 3805 off line and installed the Marantz BD8002 and connected it to my new Marantz SR7002. I was more than satisfied. The sound I received by connecting both by way of the 7.1 analog even made me forget the $$$$ I just spent.

The sound is PCM? yea they all are. as for the PQ yea new SA's will have a sharper picture, but like i said before, you really wont notice it unless you have them side by side with the same TV,same source.for the love of god this is 1080p HD were talking about.
to the OP,i would get the denon 3800 BDCI.

Denon and Marantz are both owned by same holding company but are completely different companies with their own individual R&D departments. I was told this in a Marantz/Denon sales training I went to a couple years ago. From my own personal experience with both brands, Marantz always had the better build quality and audio performance. I'm sure both blu players are great machines but I'm going to wait for the next generation from Marantz. Also keep in mind Marantz 3yr warranty Denon 1yr. It's a win win
