If this was coming out wouldn't there be a pre-order by now? Most big titles have pre-orders up about 8 weeks prior to release.

If all I get is Braveheart, Gladiator and LOTR in 2009 I'd still be very happy!

Didn't see that either even if i have the DVD in my library. Same reason as braveheart. Just never got around to watching it and since blu came out i figured i would just wait. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

ps: i haven't seen any of the LOTR either

I agree, you would have had to live in a virtual bubble not to have seen any of these movies. This is the craziest thing I've heard. Even if you were 16 when Gladiator came out in theaters, by the time it was on DVD your parents shouldn't care. These movies showed on endless loops for a long time on TV... so its amazing you never even saw the watered-down versions on TNT. As far as Braveheart goes, this is one of the all time classics. I remember going to my friends house to watch T2 (Terminator 2) when I was around 11-12, much in the same way that you probably should have done for Braveheart.

These two movies have been on many peoples' Blu-ray wish list for a long time, but waiting for something that is never announced is a long time to wait. It's not like you will ruin your experience by watching any one of these movies on SD, while waiting for the Blu-Ray to be announced, at least you don't have to watch Braveheart on 2 VHS tapes

p.s. As far as not watching LOTR, I'm sorry but there just aren't any excuses for that.

sad to say i have NEVER seen Braveheart.. although it will be a day 1 purchase for me because all my friends rate this amongst the best movies ever

Have any of you seen Ben Hur? Even though it was made in 1959 not let that put you off its still one of the best films ever made.

I've a feeling if it was really going to release 1/20 we'd have an announcement. If it's delayed, I still hope it's 1st quarter. One thing for sure, i'll be happy when it's announced!

My favorite movie ever as well. I can't wait to have it. I just ordered a Panasonic Blu-Ray player and this news made my day. I hope they improve the sound a lot, I always thought the 5.1 mix on the DVD was kind of weak.

Can't wait for this. I also want Gladiator, LOTR and Conan!!!!
