Doh. My bad. I meant bitdepth. Based on my limited understanding of it all, you aren't likely to hear a difference unless in a very large room or an anechoic chamber; unless, maybe, in the case of Stomp the Yard, the master itself is 20bit and something is getting lost going to 16 for PCM. As I understand it, bit depth primarily affords more headroom for processing that most of us can't take advantage of in normal sized rooms. Of the 24bit PCM encodes that Disney has done, I can't say that I've heard an appreciable difference over their 16bit encodes. But comparing different mixes isn't a reliable sense of measure. Like I said, this should be an interesting comparison.

Even worse: All indications from blu-ray.com & Amazon are it's *only* disc 1 of the original 2-BD edition. No lossless audio = no sale; no JHud credit on the cover only adds insult to injury.

It seem Paramout is basically reusing the same artwork from the first blu-ray release, but included images at the top. Dreamgirls was Jennifer Hudson's acting debut, and she was not given top billing, since she a was newcomer at the time. Personally I thought Dreamgirls would have been a much better movie, If Beyonce wasn't cast in the film, because Beyonce knowles can't act. The only reason why she was cast in Dreamgirls was because of her popularity, strictly not for her acting ability, Beyonce doesn't any.

Popularity sells tickets.

There are always "better" actors and actresses in the game, but Hollywood isnt strictly about that.

Which is a shame because, it only degrade the craft of acting, and filmmaking , and it's an embarrassment for real actors, and actresses who attended prominent Schools of Performing Arts, for numerous of years to master the art, and skills of their profession.

Yeah 'cause Arnold Schwartzaneggar, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Will Smith, Barabara Sreisand,Justin Timberlake, Queen Latifah, Meatloaf, Bette Midler, Cher, and Janet Jackson takes jobs away from so many professionals.

When is movie making strictly about acting? When was sellin tickets about a thespian skills?

Alvin and The Chipmunks takes years of acting?

eh, glad I got it when I did. The theatrical poster used on the original BD cover looks so much nicer than the generic "let's put the stars in closeups" and proceeding to ignore Jennifer Hudson's name, who IMO was the breakout star of the film and the true protagonist of the piece.

But it was a Beyonce and Jamie Foxx vehicle. Hudson just happened to breakout.

Promotional images should be what they were originally, not the NEW star afterwards.

I'm headed over to Best Buy this afternoon, and I'm very curious to know what this rerelease is, if it's just the 1-disc and lossy audio - what a jip

Thanks for the update! I'll definitely be trying to get my hands on this slip, to put over the top of my 2-disc Blu-ray.
