I love the PRE-ORDER NOW and SAVE 100 PERCENT offer on the home page of Blu-ray.com for Iron Man (you can see it under the thumbnail of the Iron Man BD artwork on the right side of the home page (as of 11:45 am 09-23-08).

I tried to preorder it and save 100%, but it is not available using the link on blu-ray.com (too bad!). It is very funny to see this though.

Considering that they already sent out a revised disc to the Blu-News reviewer, than that means its already fixed and should be sent out on schedule as no retailers have changed their release dates.

The pre-order I placed months ago at Amazon links to the dead page. I just re-ordered with the new product page. Something was obviously changed - probably the UPC or catalog number.

I can confirm the news about VPD. I don't think that this will cause TOO many problems. The biggest being that there could be some delays/shortages for a short period of time. Usually about a weeks time as the they get caught up on orders.

Wonder if there will be a box of these in the Best Buy or Hollywood Video dumpster.

I guess they are being sent back and destroyed but would be easier on the environment to inventory them then toss them.

(And,... since they work on the PS3... that would be really neato.

They are probably instructed to reship them back to their distributor using the label that is sent with the new batch.

Here is the problem, how long have they have known about the problem? Obviously not very long as my distributor just got their product last week. So you're thinking they fixed the issue and reproduced every retailers order in two weeks?

I find that hard to believe specially since even some of the insiders said that Blu-ray replication is on a very tight schdule......how can they just out of no where get hundreds of thousands of discs made in two weeks? I hope you are right but my rep specifically said that Paramount said they are "trying to get it out as soon as possible so it makes street date BUT it may come late".

That's probably because they broke street date and don't have the product in their possesion where it was supposed to stay until release date.

Mine stated it shipped from tower, we'll see though. I have the ps3 and according to people, it works in that.
