Is this a sign the US and canadian one will be ABC as well?

But why can't you preorder it at any amazon shop??

yeah i know. But don't you think its weird that it is not released in germany or the UK?

Also it looks like there is a ton of special features missing on the spanish one. Like Bonus view, 2 comentaries, gag reel. And more i think

from what i read and saw in interviews, chris carter and fox knew this movie wasn't gonna be the blockbuster of the year.
but it was a real good movie.
and the lateist news is they are talking about a another one!
the cast wants to do another one.
and fox is not saying no ...yet.

It's supposed to be about the alien colonization plan in 2012, so either we'll be waiting until 2012 or it'll be based in the near future. I, for one, hate waiting years to see a movie. I just hope they do it right, especially since they'll be getting back into the main mythology of the show.

Is this the North American cover? If so, it looks like the spine is thicker than a normal Blu case.

Yeah I heard that too. I really hope they do that movie with a good budget to do it right!

yeah it is the North America cover.
I dont know, it's a rental copy so the original artwork should be the same, in just a slight bigger case.

Alright, I never watched the show, but im interested in the movies. I've read that I Want to Believe works as a standalone film and you don't need to be a fan of the series to enjoy it.

What about Fight For the Future? Can it work as a standalone movie as well?

EEHHHH... Kind of... But it would be much better seeing some of the mythology episodes. Yeah, it would be a good movie to watch, but you wouldn't know a lot of the characters, cancer man and the other insiders. And it would be hard to appreciate some of the cast if you hadn't seen them as mulder and scully before.

I wouldn't watch either movie without seeing some episodes of the tv series first. The first few seasons of X-Files are classic television that many television shows since have copied from (see Fringe this year for an example).

I'd wait. Within a year, someone will have these two blus for $10 each or less. Fight for the future will definitely drop to $10 or under in 6-8 months. Movies with previous lives on standard DVD drop the quickest.

For example, those who bought Rambo 1-3. If you would have waited 6-12 months, the price dropped dramatically from its initial release. Some people have posted their disappointment at paying 100% higher than what the price is now.

Of course, if you really can't wait for these two blus in your collection, then go ahead. In the last few months, I've seen a number of people complain about pre-ordering or day 1 purchases. Just waiting a few weeks, you'll save a lot. Look at Kung Fu Panda from day 1 of its release to Black Friday.

Fox UK are only shooting themselves in the foot with this stance. Firstly, why the heck is the US "Fight the Furture" region A only, if a All regions release has already been released? There's not theatrical window to protect, and there's already a global copy available. Region encoding just doesn't make sense at all.

Secondly, and most importantly, why would anyone in the UK buy "I Want to Believe" on Blu-ray when they all know a twin pack will be available for a discounted price in the future? Look at all the Fox UK twin packs released this November in the UK for example. We all know a twin pack is coming, so wise customers will just ignore their "I Want to Believe" release - no doubt making the idiots at Fox UK think there's no interest in the X-Files on Blu-ray. [sigh]

I've never seen such cynical marketing of a movie on Blu-ray from any other studio (Fox previously held the record for most cynical marketing of a movie on Blu-ray for releasing the theatrical edit of Fantastic Four 1 with no supplements only weeks before releasing an all singing, all dancing, seamless branching 2 disc set of the film on DVD).

Yes, people, I don't like Fox and their horrible region coding, often cut-down region B releases when they do deem the time it right for us to get one, and sometimes totally featureless Blu-ray releases regardless of region. I know some people will point out Fox always use lossless audio and therefore are kings of Blu-ray releases, but frankly, that's a minor concern when half the world can't even buy some of their releases - including catalogue releases with non-theatrical windows to protect.

Fox's greed is giving Blu-ray a bad name outside of the US.
