Avalon was mostly shot and made in Poland, so yes it's the original language track for it. The Japanese track is the dub in this case.

My bad for not being clear
![]() I just did'nt know there had been "cheap DSP processing to upmix the 2ch track directly". What I wanted to know was which particular dvd release got the half-ass upmixing. This reminds me of the first DVD release of Akira where the hardcore fans wanted better audio and received it with the later DTS version. They are charging $90 for a Blu-ray with inferior surround sound than the ST-DVD I already own? They can keep their disc and I'll keep my $90. If they are charging that much for these movies they need to learn more about what people who are hypothetically willing to spend that much demand for their money. This isn't the Joe Bloggs mass market anymore.
