Well, I'm not Catholic, but still watching a 2hr Christian "snuff" film really upsets me too. I never thought being beaten and tortured was Christ's passion. I thought is was his life and the way he lived as an example of how we should live.

Raging Bull is a great movie though and I plan to pick that one up. It's more fun to watch someone like Jake LaMota get beat up.

Mods - one more - another thread started about Passion of Christ after this one was up. Not sure if you want to combine them or separate them out - since this one lists raging bull and passion of christ.

You may wanna swing by today. Best Buy ended up breaking release date on a lot of titles and Raging was one of them.

lol wtf is that supposed to me? Black and white film has plenty of detail for a high-def transfer. It was not made to be viewed in standard-def.

was gonna pick this up today but BB didnt have it out. Oh well. Definitely getting it tomorrow.

I've never seen this movie, but all I have to know is that Scorcese and Deniro were involved and I'm sold.

Total classic movie & it's odd there aren't many threads on here about it.

The special features from the sedvd were great as well, so check them out when you get the blu. My fav was the short on how Scorsese took old fight footage and reproduced them basically move-for-move for the movie. Amazing.

I guess you haven't seen Casablanca, Young Frankenstein, The Third Man, or The Day the Earth Stood Still on Blu-ray yet??? (the ones I have currently)

Obviously, black and white can leave something to be desired when it comes to HD transfers. You don't get the vivd, true to life colors that blu-ray normally sports. That being said, there is still plenty to offer with black and white titles on blu-ray.

I'll be buying raging bull very soon i hope.

What's even more upsetting is how many people took their little kids to see this.

the Raging Bull sound effects and visuals during the boxing sequences should look and sound really nice. i don't see how Ordinary People won the 1980 best picture award but i guess thats show business *LoL*.

I saw Raging bull and Passion at my local Best Buy. I didn't pick it up though because I didn't know if the quality was any good.

I am more interested in RB for sure.

There is a site that has reviews up of both, but you have to think about old disc technology and an animal that builds dams to find them.

I absolutely agree. In addition to that, remember that
[Show spoiler]a small sequence in Raging Bull is in color -- the LaMotta's home movies.
