Audio is amazing. Anyone who has walked in the snow knows that sound, and it is very realistic. The only problem comes in one of the hotel scenes where they really should have done some ADR. The audio is softer than the rest of the film, and it sounds like the mic was too far away during filming. Never noticed that on the DVD, but that's what a high quality audio soundtrack gives you.

Its a great release that fans definitely need to pick up. You'll be a bit scared when you see the grain at first, but as soon as they do a close-up, you'll know you're watching something special.

Has anyone encountered any problems with image steadiness?
I read some german reviews of the german blu-ray release which stated that
image steadiness is not that great.
I wonder if only the german release has that problem.

I have watched the BD several times (including once this month), and have not noticed image unsteadiness or any other issues; looks great.

Hmmm...but Sony released the blu-ray in Germany.
It has to be the same transfer, right?
One of the german reviews states:

"Unfortunately the image is not totally error-free. Already during the first scenes there's an image unsteadiness which continues to show up during the whole film every now and then."

Well...two forum members of bluray-disc.de confirmed that
there's a constant image unsteadiness.
That's a deal breaker.

Because two other guys say it is? And I would choose a little bit of motion judder over too much DNR any time.

Ok...I started a thread on bluray-disc.de and it seems that
the image is only unsteady for the first 4 minutes....I can live with that.
I'm going to purchase it.

Again I am baffled your comment. DNR and EE are BD's worst enemies.

I agree that DNR and EE are BD's worst enemies.
But the best looking blu-ray would be worthless with an unsteady image in my opinion....fortunately that's a rare problem.

So I received and watched the Blu-ray...first of all...I was really pleased
with the pq.
Regarding image unsteadiness >>> it's a little shaky during the first couple of minutes...then it gets better. There's a slight unsteadiness until the end of the film but not to the extent that it becomes distracting.
