Hopefully, all of the films in the Origins Series will get the necessary resources.

i've been awaiting movement on this project for a while
i've always been intrigued by a Magneto film
and the role Xavier would have in it with their friendship/opposing views being a big part of it

it COULD be great

and i liked what beast was saying about a young beast in the film
i loved kelsey's beast from X3 and i like the character in general
i would like to see him on screen again (the character) and would LOVE to see kelsey do it again somehow (unlikely though)

xmen first class 500x343 Bryan Singer Says X Men: First Class May Negate The Need For Magneto Origins MovieThe Hollywood Reporter recently caught up with Bryan Singer to talk about the recently announced X-Men: First Class movie.

Singer, who said that he would probably shoot Jack The Giant Killer before he starts work on X-Men, also suggested that the much rumored Magneto origins movie may not need to be made considering what he plans to do with X-Men: First Class.

This is what Singer had to say…

“This story would probably utilize some of the Magneto story because it deals with a young Magneto, so it might supersede that because this would explore that relationship between a young energetic professor and a disenfranchised victim of the Holocaust. The X-Men universe is boundless. These are great characters. And as young characters, they are quite different than the characters we have seen in the contemporary movies.”

Well that's kind of disappointing.

I wish they would stop going backwards so that we can move on.

I don't think a Magneto film would work. They need to just let go of the properties so Marvel can get them back and make the movies right.

+1, they covered his backstory perfectly when they showed him as a child in the camps in the previous films. Whats more to say? he was a child, torn from his parents in the most violent way, family gets killed, kid gets angry.... But then again they covered Wolverines backstory too... yet they thought they needed another 100min to re-tell it all again lol

And yet, they STILL did it wrong, even when the first ones did it right

I kind of figured that would happen. While I find Magneto to be a very interesting character, I think that First Class would cover most of the interesting parts of his origins, such as his interactions with Charles. A brief flashback of how he survived the concentration camps would be welcome though.

YoungE8080, I agree. We don't really need to see too much of what happened since we all know where it leads. While Wolverine was entertaining (to me) a whole lot of it did not matter and/or we already knew.

Unless they just add stuff into a Magneto film, there really is no one for him to display his powers against except for humans. I just don't and have never seen the point of doing this since they announced it.

with the lackluster effort they put into the Wolverine spin-off, I wouldn't have much faith in anything...

the script sucks and I only like a little bit of Singer's work...

That would be a movie with a long span of time. Wasn't he born in ancient Egypt? I would like to see an epic trilogy concerning Apocalypse, a really big build up type deal. The video game has the great title "X-Men: Rise of Apocalypse".
