Loved the game, but I am really starting to wonder if split-screen is dead, and video gaming is no longer an activity that you can do with your friends. It's such a shame, i have friends over on weekends, and we have nothing we can enjoy together other than Wii games. I think it's just a case of the industry trying to make sure everyone is buying their own systems and games, so that they can't get their enjoyment from going to friends' houses and playing them.

Second is the characters seem too colorful and bright, not as dark or black and white like the first Resistance which would make you think that is nice right? However to me, it looks too much like Halo now, and for me Halo is terrible. The controls are different (much like Call of Duty 4) which isn't so bad, but I still feel the controls were better in the first game. Also the rifle gun doesn't zoom or do slow motion like the first game. It's small things like all these that I mentioned that makes the game disappointing to me. Overall, I like the mechanics and play better of Resistance: Fall of Man and I think Insomniac missed out on the fundamentals this time around. Anyone else see my point or?
You can only carry two guns through the whole game....thats a fact.

It seems to me that most people that loved the first game, don't like the second, and vice versa. I loved the first one.

Mostly I hate the two weapon system. I really love having all of the weapons on me at all times. I don't like having to zoom in to aim properly. It seems too similar to COD4 and strayed from it's originality.

So far so good. Only minor complaints here. I like the new control scheme. I hated pushing the R3 button to zoom in then pushing it again to zoom out. I like just clicking in and release. I also like the 2 weapon deal. I personally hated the weapon circle of the first game. Kudos to Insomniac for these changes.

I hate playing any FPS/shooter using splitscreen-whether its 2 player or 4. I didn't even know it existed in the first one. This feature wasn't a must have for me, so no complaints here.

My only real complaint, is that the graphics (as nice as they are) isn't as gritty and dark as it was in R:FOM. Its too cartoony bright. I liked the dark and gritty look that they did for England.

Last but not least, I consider a "short" game like 5-6 hours to complete (a la COD4), but if some of you are saying thats its in the range of 13-19 hours to complete, that's long for a shooter. Looking forward to going the distance with this one.

Overall, not disappointed at all. Solid game and 60 player TDMs are flippin insane.

Just a thought I had guys.

Resistance was Insomniac's first PS3 game, then they went on to make two Ratchet and Clank games and then came back to Resistance.

Do you think the bright, oversaturated almost cartoony look as something to do with the fact that this is all based off an engine that made 2 Ratchet games before this one. The first one was based off a PS3 engine that to that point only did bleak, gray looking FPS, then they made these 2 colorful Ratchet games and then tried to go back to the bleak FPS and I imagine that Ratchet's style and look had to take some effect in the way R2 looks.

I mean look at this:

Just look at his legs (monsters), that looks exactly like something out of Ratchet.

Im dissapointed at the lack of split-screen for the story campaign. Also, the splitscreen for the coop mode sucks, they should have kept th splitscreen style from r1

Im positive this will still be my favorite shooter for 2008 due to the story, coop and multiplayer. The graphics/story/gameplay are all great, and Im sure ill put many hours into the online parts.

But theres no denying that the lack of splitscreen means this game lost the magic that R1 had. R1 is still the ONLY shooter my gf has played with me from start-to-finish. I was REALLY looking forward to experiencing that with her again. But now shes totally lost interest, and Ill be playing this alone like any other shooter.

You may not like the new graphics style, but technically it is better than Resistance 1. I think it looks better too, but guess what people? This is subjective.

R2 short? I think you people don't remember how long R1 was. Took you weeks to beat? Please, a friend and I powered through it within a day of getting the game.

R2 on rails? So was R1. For that matter, so are all shooters of this type. Gears of War? Check. Halo? You bet. Half-Life? Yeppur.

Off-line co-op in the first game was fun, but was just dumb from a story perspective. Nathan Hale, the only survivor of the Chimeran invasion. Oh, and his wacky sidekick who also somehow survives but isn't worthy of mention.

Resistance 2 is at least as good of an experience as Resistance 1 was. I think people built Resistance 1 up to be better than it was, expected R2 to be leaps and bounds better, and thus hyped themselves to ruining the R2 experience.

I loved the first and I'm loving the second so far (just finished Chicago, what a f'n level!! ). Though I haven't finished it, I think it is safe to say that Resistance 2 will take the title of best FPS this generation from Resistance:Fall of Man.

I don't hate the two weapon system but definitely would have preferred the weapon wheel. True the aiming isn't as easy as the first but I don't mind the change. Something about the way the flashlight just doesn't look quite right on the textures as well.

I'm hoping for cheats like, gun select, unlimited ammo, unlimited grenades. Speed up mode like Uncharted would be insane but fun.

Does anyone else notice when you play online with another friend (split screen) and you or your friend presses triangle to switch guns or perks the damn options box covers the entire screen? Please someone else tell me this has happened!

Please post something that actually makes sense.

In Resistance 1 the single and co-op campaign are the same campaign.

Somehow it would have magically taken me longer if I did it solo? That's your argument?

If it took you weeks to beat Resistance 1 you either never played or are the single worst FPS player ever.

I just completed the game.

[Show spoiler]
- The ending was a bit different then the rest of the game, I didn't expect him to get powers like that.
- Last boss battle was WAY to easy, I was SO disappointed! I got a gold trophy for THAT?!
- With Hale dead and gone, it sucks that he's out of the storyline, but to me, he was just another character, he wasn't no Solid Snake to me.
- When he says 'This is just the beginning' at the end, it just gives me the shivers and I cannot WAIT for R3 now!

[QUOTE=Terjyn;1294217]Call of Duty: World at War was made by the B team.

Do not expect it to be good. It could be, and it might be a pleasant surprise, but given how bad that team's prior CoD games are, I wouldn't count on it[/QUOTE

Wrong, it's great. You don't think they caught on to the thousands of posts elsewhere that COD3 wasn't good. They worked closely with Infinity Ward on World at War and even used the same graphics engine. I've been playing the beta now for a few weeks and if I didn't know any better I would have thought it was made by the same COD4 team. Plays the same as COD4 Except it has more perks, vehicles and updated graphics. Very underrated title and definitely will be replacing COD4 for me.

It's not just Call of Duty 3.

Every single Treyarch game has been mediocre, and they've made dozens of them.

Most reviews so far are saying exactly the same thing. Less memorable single player campaign but the engine is still wonderful.

This is what I said, that they'd add nothing to the single player campaign, but the engine might save them into having a fun game.

People, try and understand my argument. Please. Or am I going to have to make this reply AGAIN, for the same argument?
