I don't think you understand but thanks for trying.. there is more to this, and it would require a view of the bigger picture.

The paradigm of gaming is swinging to a new direction slowly, small things are bringing this, trophy's is just a small very tiny part of this swing, its like watching your world evolve and you were not invited to the party.

Will I have a place to this new world of gaming?

Well considering you are up to speed with 'blogging' as you are here, I think that you will be doing just fine. You seem like you can handle and grasp the changes to the world such as the internet.

You will definately have a spot in the 'new world'. Just keep in mind that everything changes just may not be what you want it to be.

Also I think that you'll love the movie "No Country For Old Men" as you are hitting exactly what they were referring to.

I don't care for trophies - I have 52% on Uncharted - I beat the game and liked it, and I'm done. If I play it again, it won't be for trophies. I expect it will stay at 52% for a very long time.

But I'm glad they have this for people who enjoy this stuff.

Haha! I don't mean that you are old in age. You should definately see the movie as I feel like it definately relates to your situation. I would explain what I mean further, but the ending of the movie pretty much sums it up.

Ohhkay

I would be willing to let this all go and totally forget about it, if say if activision released Battlezone 3, and Heavy Gear 3 to PC and PS3.. and not let those ips grow the dust they have been gathering.

BZ2 and HG3 I hold dear.

I personally don't care whether a game has trophies or not. But if it does, I will definitely try to get them. Hell, even if it doesn't but has the old school accomplishments like DMC4, I'll still get them.

The notifier did kill the mood for Dead Space, though. I was stomping out some dude, and then the box for "Marksmanship" popped up, making me laugh so hard that I was never able to be scared by the game again.

Some people don't care about Trophies / Achievements and that's fine.

For the rest of us Trophies / A** are important. For me, they give me ideas on how to play a game differently. For instance, I was just playing CoD W@W and one trophy was for going through a whole level with just the flame thrower. I did it and had a blast.

For some, they are "street cred" and for others they are just "proof" of someone doing what they said they did (like beating the game).

I don't shoot for 100% myself (think I did like 2 100% on the other system). I just enjoy the game first then look for cool trophies to try for.

And for gamers, it gives us something to talk about. I frequently talk to other gamers about this or that trophy/A***.

Oh, and some trophies are very challenging, like killing 6 guys with 3 bullets and stuff. Like I said, for those who want/like them, they add more to the game. For those that don't, just move along. Nothing to see here.

Oh, and even though I personally don't care about trophies (although I understand the fun in getting them) - I try and help others out if I can to get them, cause I know it's a big part of the game for them. It's like a game within a game.

The only time I hate the idea of trophies is when people play games ONLY for trophies.

I would get PMs from strangers on Warhawk telling me to add them to my Clan so they could get the enlistee trophy (or course, I didn't add them cause that's not what the Clan is about/for). Or wanted to join the Clan just to get trophies - I felt they really missed having fun with the game.

I think it's funny how people get their panties in a bunch about trophies. They're a nice thing to get, what's the harm in them? People that don't "get" them are putting a little too much thought into it.
