I am not sure if it is true HD or not but it is a scene I can show friends and they get blown away. *fingers crossed* That the rest of the movie is done as well.

CAN'T WAIT

Anything from the Pirates trilogy, Casino Royale or Transformers. Oh ya the The Incredible Hulk campus fight & rain/cave scene.

If you're talking about audio....the first battle scene from Master and Commander is the best I've experienced so far.

For PQ...meh, any of the animated titles. They all look great.

The night battle scene in the palace courtyard from Curse of the Golden Flower ... simply terrific as is the attack also at night in the mountains.

I've always used the initial chase scene through Madagascar in Casino Royale...from the snake fight all the way to when he escapes through that gate.

Word has it (in the "Mega Thread" ) that The Dark Knight is NOT reference material, but looks/sounds good though...

The first battle scene from Master and Commander is indeed overwhelming. Great use of the surrounds and the bass is LOUD. I love it

I'm curious too, i brought my PS3 over to my brothers house since he wanted to borrow it. He has a 40" 1080p Samsung, so we hooked it up via HDMI, set it up for 1080p output. I showed him the MGS4 demo and he was like WOW that looks real as hell. Then i popped in Casino Royale bluray and he was like "huh" thats it, whats the fuss about bluray. So i popped in indiana jones, the mummy, Transformers, troy DC and he wasnt impressed. He agreed it looked sharp but not worth the money compared to DVD

is there any AWESOME PQ movie i can demo to him

If those movies don't "do it for him" then he's just content with SD material..... If those don't wow him, it probably won't happen

I remember the family and I watching Ratatouille and the first time we say the little guy (i.e. rat) close up we all said 'wow'. His details and brilliant colors were stunning.

Don't use Transformers, overrated as a demo disc IMO. Cars would be good, or as I noted before, the temple scene in Apocalypto. The colors are insanely vibrant. Are you sure you had the output all set up properly? I agree that if he wasn't impressed with Casino Royale, he may just not get it.

i use topgun for my refernce material. the soundtrack is awesome, its a 20+ yr old movie that definately benefits highly from bluray, and the scenes with them dogfighting in the air, ie giving the MIG the finger, are awesome and even make my mother, who hates surround sound sit and say how real it all feels....i think she has a soft spot for that crazy son of a b*tch Tom Cruise. lol

I haven't seen it but wouldn't Rambo be perfect for home theatre? I just remember going to the movies to see No Country for Old Men and being able to hear every action scene in Rambo through the walls! Somebody who owns it concur...
