I think these companies are finally realizing the target audience for these movies is a little older than what they originally intended. I think for the moment the limit we will see is PG-13. I think parents probably are not fazed by picking up a PG-13 movie for their kids but a R rating might be hard to swallow.

I just got done watching this (not the BD so I can't comment on PQ or AQ), I'd have to say it definitely the most entertaining DC (possibly even Marvel) animated movie done so far. The voice casting was great, even Keri Russell sounded good. The action was better than Superman: Doomsday. And it's very humorous. (
[Show spoiler]Steve tries to get Wonder Woman drunk.
)

My favorite part (without giving anything away),
[Show spoiler]look for a cameo by another famous Wonder Woman villian at the end
.

I plan to get it. She is a Hottie. Now if only WB would put "Linda Carter" in her 3 season tv show in 1080p Hi-Def! Wow that would be Sweet.

No go from Netflix as it was atop my queue but got skipped over and now is a long wait. My local Blockbuster didn't get it yesterday as I checked on my way home from the office.

Anyone pick this up? I'm not planning to blind buy and wanted to know what you thought about this BD.

Thanks!

I grabbed it at Best Buy with the exclusive WW fig and popped in the movie last night. It was pretty damn entertaining. Lotsa of graphic violence and well-paced action, but no blood. Action pulled me into the film right away and the introduction of the main characters was brief but effective. Looks great and the whole new story about how and why she arrives to our world is totally plausable. The big finale was pretty big, so big I was wondering when Superman would show up! Not hoping I'm a big prude, but DVD Beaver and I seem to share similar attitudes about some of the dialogue which took me by surprise, but I got over it. I was also happy to realize Gail Simone was a co-writer of this as the end credits played; read her "Birds of Prey" from the first issue one-shot and enjoying her run on "Wonder Woman" right now. So of course, I would enjoy this as much as I did.

Sounds like you need to adjust your color or contrast, this movie was just as, if not bloodier than Superman: Doomsday.

What I meant by that was that during the actually slashing and stabbing moments, no blood appeared. Perhaps in the black silhouetted moments we may have seen a splash of silhouetted blood splash across as a head was sliced off. But in the "lighted" scenes, a blade that was thrust into a chest and pulled out would reveal a clean blade in both counts. On the body or on the ground under the body tho', there was definitely blood.

I finally got around to watching it and they did an outstanding job with this one. They're still exceeding expectations with these animated movies... looking forward to the next one.

I also feel like it could have used more blood though. The opening sequence, although engaging, barely showed any blood whatsoever, but rather warriors being 'knocked out' by an impaling sword. But other than that, it was well-presented and enjoyable once you get over it.

I wish they could get out from under the 78 minute cap and take time to pace things a little better. I understand they want to be able to run the things on Cartoon Network in 90 minutes, but if they have to cut something for the run time, doesn't that just make people want to see the Blu-ray version more?

They talk about it in one of the commentaries or in an interview online.

The running time these run at, is basically what they can afford.

Of all the DC animated releases, this one is my favorite. I think it tells it's story better than the others. I have to be honest. I didn't really love New Frontier or Gotham Knights. Even though the video quality and sound was nice, the films suffered from too much to tell in too little time. Wonder Women to me has done the best job so far. I highly recommend it.

Lynda Carter IS Wonder Woman. She is a very hard act to follow. I'm still waiting for the series to be released on blu.

Exclamation Problem with WW disc

I just rented this from Blockbuster online and strangely the disc was skipping during the part when Steve lands on the Island and is first confronted by Diana. I rewinded, replayed, fast forwarded and replayed through out that section, but it would not play smoothly through it. The skipping stops towards the end of Steve's interrogation by the Queen.

Any of you who own this notice this on your discs? I don't think it's my PS3 because it plays everything else fine, and the disc looked brand new.
