I'll check the Fettastic tier group list first before I buy a movie I haven't seen. I'll probably pick up the new release Keanu Reeves movie, it has good reviews on Netflix too.

I'll buy all Harry Potter movies, Matrix movies and LOTR movies in BluRay no matter what the PQ is.

What few HD discs I will buy will be mostly movies or concerts I haven't seen. If high resolution surround music is released on Blu-ray, I will likely buy some music I have heard.

Wacthing a DVD twice, for me, is like reading a book the second(third? fourth?) time.
What would be the point?

Yes! I buy BD titles I haven't seen, but I also buy "normal" DVDs in the Bargain Bin for those grey area movies.

SciFi, Action that I haven't seen... I'll buy them on BD. No problem!

Always, I always purchase movies I haven't seen. Usually I'll read a review or a few of them on yahoo, just to get an idea. Then I buy it if it sounds interesting and judge it for myself. I see it as a hobby.

I just found out A Scanner Darkly is some kind of special effects/animation movie thingy, I think I'll pass.
