Are the subtitles forced for the french dialogue or can you turn them off?

Ugh...

Now that I can't stand. A custom cover can be made to replace the crappy one included. Disc art cannot be changed.

There were several covers that Revolver went through, but given the fact that they are not Sony, they had to use a cover that is going to help sell. and make them a profit, like any business would!

Jean Claude Van Damme is renowned for action. Now an art house cover in the UK is not going to sell as much as it would if it was the same as the French or US copies, because the theatrical play over here was nowhere near the extent of those territories.

The extras on the Blu Ray are actually 576p.

I actually think Revolver did a good job on this compared to 'Fony' releases over the years.

Bought this movie today. Great movie. Movie played fine but none of the special features would play. Has this happened to anyone else. I have the UK version of JCVD and an American PS3.

The extras are in PAL format. I was trying to take pics of the film yesterday with powerDVD, but for some reason I kept getting an error message.

I was gonna import this but I've spent way too much on BD's this month already. I'll wait til it hits US shores in April. Really would appreciate a review from my Canadian bretheren though.

I will hit up Amazon.fr later today, must get France release with DTS-HD MA.

EDIT: Does anyone know which express courier Amazon France uses?

I prefer using FedEx, but only Amazon Japan uses them. =/

I got my France Gaumont JCVD BD, quality is good, it looks like film anyway, I haven't had time to go over video or audio quality yet since I didn't watch it on my setup.

It has English subs that were confirmed already but they are not for the hard of hearing (I'm assuming that was for the French subs which I haven't checked yet). Audio is DTS-HD MA 5.1, the disc is only 25GB single layer and the special features (for the ones I tested anyway) seem to be in PAL standard definition 576 so my NTSC PS3 cannot play them.

Overall good buy, comes in a cardboard case though and not a regular BD case.

EDIT: Oh right, unlike the UK release, the subtitles are (obviously) not permanent, so for people who hate permanent subs, this is the way to go for JCVD.

I wanted to buy the French version the other day with its cool cardboard packaging but when I saw the 31€ price tag I immediately turned away.

English dialogue is only subtitled when French subs are on, if you are using English subs, the English dialogue is not subtitled (but the Chinese and French spoken in the movie is subtitled).
