Do you have a Y-splitter comming out of your receiver?
CLICK HERE it shows the quality of my sub cable. If you look at the blue RCA and the black RCA on the back, the black one is the LFE that goes to my sub. The blue one goes to the built in amplifer in my center channel speaker "Full range low level in" And it looks like they are hooked up wrong. What does that red plug go into at the back of the receiver?? (the one that plugs into "right" on the sub) You should just have one cable going into each subs "LEF/Left" in only. |

I have 3 y-splitters...
1. Coming from the receiver. 2. going into the right sub. 3. going into the left sub. Wait, don't get me wrong.... I love the bass with both set @ 80Hz.. The bass is smooth and soothing it puts us to sleep most of the time. The bass fills the room and we start to get drowsy and before you know it, the credits are playing.. The bass is not wrong, I’m just wondering why it's opposite of you guys. |

Have you read the manual? Does the sub disable the x-over when LFE is used?
Despite if it sounds better the way you had it hooked up, it's still wrong. That is not how they are designed to be hooked up. That page you took the pic of with your speaker wire states that. |

Here is the link to the little information about the sub.
http://www.klipsch.com/media/product...12%20small.pdf I am reading the manual now and I am looking for 'Does the sub disable the x-over when LFE is used?' I have read this: Klipsch powered subwoofers are designed to reproduce deep bass and deliver the impact that makes your movies and music come alive. For optimum performance, place your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers. (refer to Figures 1 and 2). Please note that room placement can have a dramatic effect upon the performance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, as suggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, while placing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in the room will decrease the amount of bass output. Also Optimal Connections – Klipsch Synergy Powered subwoofers can be connected to the subwoofer output of your electronics via the RCA jack inputs (“LINE IN”) on the subwoofer’s rear panel (refer to Figure 3). I do have it like that, except the 2 inputs are from a Y-splitter(which should be the same as a left and right from the receiver) |

Hey Blu_Ray_Fan.
The next time you visit Best-buy, go check out the subs and listen to how they sound and how they fill the room. I know you have a supercube, but just check it out. For mine to be a entry level sub, the bass is amazing. I'm living in an apt. and looking to buy a home. When I do move I really plan on buying some Def-Tech's and Sunfire sub/s. |

Only other things I would recommend trying:
1. Try removing all Y-splitters and running the LFE to just one sub. Does this change anything using the settings we recommended? 2. Try having just one Y-splitter and run both subs via just the left input. Any changes? I use a Y-splitter on my single sub, but I'm wondering if possibly it's being split too much...? Anyway, it's your setup and if you like it at that level, then that's all that matters. It's just weird it changes the volume like that. |

![]() The LFE/LEFT and RIGHT connections would be used in a 2.0 setup where you are running two speakers and sub. You would go from the pre-outs on the receiver for the front left and right into the sub. Then you can run the receiver or pre/pro in a "PURE" or "DIRECT" mode for best sound. The way you have it hooked up is not meant for HT use. I will check them out next time I'm at Best Buy (which will prob be soon ![]() |
