I think im jumping the gun here... But Universal studios aint just blockbuster kind of studio... If you really check out there movie catalog, Universal has great and wonderful movies and Universal has been out for god so many years.... you dont think indiana jones and jurassic park arent gona have any impact ones its releases are set out and when it hits retail stores.
I hate it when people get so negative and harsh about puting hd-dvd in the coffin and other messed up comments. Personally I feel that Warner and Universal are the top 2 studios that make great movies.

Im getting ahead of myself here, I apologize. considering the matrix set, whichever version is better ima get. And I'm having a sudden feeling that the movies wont really be a great hd material movie. If you really think about the look of the film.. would it really look that great in hd?

Sony has by far the biggest grossing movies the last two years....and the new releases sell formats....not catalog titles.
Warner is at the very bottom of studios releasing....or supposedly supporting BD.
They sell more BD than HD DVD...but treat BD like a red headed step child in comparison.

Universal will not be releasing Indiana Jones ect anytime soon.

Disney and Sony are the two best studios to sell a format....and BD has both.

Right now, Highdefinition is about wowing your eyes & ears, not your Brain

Take Reloaded & Revolutions for what they are; EYE/EAR CANDY fire up some
microwaveable popcorn and let your brain turn to mush for a few hours

As bad as the Ewok scene is in ROTJ I still love the series!
that's your opinion....

I still don't like the other 2 Matrix movies...
and I don't care if Crank was BD IMAX and jumped out of the screen...the movie was atrocious and I will never spend my money on it...

there are plenty of movies that wow your eyes as well as your brain....

Your all over the place...

Old blockbuster movies are going to have an impact, which movies studios are the best, which movies versions are better - then finally you say that movies are not going to look great in hd. <--- Well why are you posting here????

Planet Earth is the last WB BD I buy unless they start releasing with a PCM track.

I understand Blood Diamond, from WB, is going to be releasing with LPCM track - I will buy it, if not no $ from me.

I was going to get Superman Returns yesterday - but saw no LPCM, put it back on the shelf....

My sentiments exactly.

I've thought about renting Crank on BD to see what everyone's talking about, but I watched the first 15 minutes on DVD and just couldn't take it. I forced myself to sit through The Transporter, and was pretty sure Crank would be the same, and I was right. You can be pretty sure a movie's not good when they don't let people review it before it comes out in the theaters (like Crank).

I'm still debating getting Blood Diamond. I thought the dramatic scenes were great, but the rest of the movie just seemed boilerplate and preachy to me, so I wouldn't get it, but I want Warners to see that the IME crap isn't going to influence sales, so I want to get it to help it outsell, or at least be comparable to the HD-DVD version in sales.

The last that I heard, the matrix was going to be put on blu-ray, but hasn't yet as the release date hasn't been announced yet. There could be a box set of the trilogy on blu-ray disc, but the set would have to have more for people to buy it. The trilogy is out on regular DVD.

Just like any series, the matrix fan base will puchase any improved version availible. This movie will look supurb on the BD format and they are great movies so I will be puchasing any Matrix that becomes availible.

I like the box sets that came out. I have the one with the neo bust. Warner has yet to confirm what the release date for the first film will be or what special features will be included.

Especially as it's a Paramount release

They're obviously also unable to release Speilberg films on HD-DUD for the forseeable future so you can count out Jurassic Park too

you have the ultimate avengers and x-men 3 at home but you talk **** about the second 2 matrix movies and crank? it doesn't seem like you are qualified to make an educated opinion on what movies stimulate the brain if you're going to be a fanboy about comic book garbage like x3. everyone knows that was a colossal flop. crank wasn't a great movie, but it DID look fantastic on blu-ray and i would consider buying it myself. the quality of a movie itself is number one priority but why would you dish out all the money for a blu-ray player and hdtv and everything else if you weren't concerned about having an awesome picture?

ahaha Crank was a horrible movie altogether...

I don't know why you're so asshurt...

now you're trying to attack my list of BD's like that's going to make Crank any better...

I am concerned about the picture quality....only with movies I like..

I'm sorry I don't like Crank...I could shed a few tears if it makes you feel better?

I don't understand what you're talking about. The above poster mentions that the second two Matrix movies and Crank are bad movies, yet owns the Avengers and X3 on blu-ray. Those are far worse movies than most others I can think of. I liked the x-men franchise of movies but 3 was terrible and if I had to pick between that or Crank, I'd get Crank just because it is what it is, a senseless action movie with a high pace that was enjoyable and looks great on blu-ray. X3 was a terrible movie and I don't care how good it looks I wouldn't get it because it sucked so bad. Also, how can you say the second two Matrix movies are not worth a purchase on blu-ray when you own a ******* AVENGERS CARTOON on blu-ray. What an idiot.
