Chances are it is an amp issue. Unless you are fairly well versed in electronics you will likely need to find a local shop or send it in to velodyne. The latter would be the way to go if it was under warranty.

It MIGHT be the driver(something broken in the motor showing the amp a "short" which causes the amp fuse to pop. If you remove the driver you can test that easy with a DMM.

Just out of curiosity, has anybody replaced their CT-120/100 for the newer EQ Max-series?? I have been drooling over the EQ Max-12, but worried that it will not meet my high expectations, I already have, over the much older CT-100.

::::::::If only::::::
I could replace the Amp from the newer EQ max, and slide it in place of the older CT Amp.....now that would be heaven!!! I prefer the front firing port vs down firing.....

Hello group, and this is my FIRST writing in this forum...

I have read through some of the posts. Some seem to call their Velodyne CT-100 etc. older..

Well, I would just like to say, I STILL to this day enjoy my F1500r.. yeah, its only 250 watts, BUT, it plays VERY low which is an important feature for me.

Putting an analogue signal generator into it, was able to reach 15Hz. at a good level before she dropped off

This one is dated 1995 !

Just sayin' .... DO enjoy your newer models from the company that really started it all with the LOWEST distortion numbers in a subwoofer!

Default DD15 does not generate any test tones

i have two of these subs since about 2006. Recently I re calibrated them, one first, no issue, but when trying to do the second one, there was no test tones from the setup menu. No volume from the sub or from the front speakers, just a flat line. Interesting the self EQ worked generating tones while it did it job, but i could not get a test tone from the 12345 test graphs.

There is no signal coming from the RCA EQ output jacks for the setup menu.

Any ideas????

I just recently upgraded my sub to a Velodyne HGS-18 and I'm loving it. My neighbors might not appreciate it though...Unfortunately I don't have any fellow audiophiles in the office so my excitement falls on deaf ears & glazed over eyes. Not that it matters bc it makes me happy.

Congrats on the HGS!

That sounds like something I recently said. My sentiments exactly.

Default Some decent Subs on Sale

Thought I'd share in case someone is in the market: Velodyne has some decent sales going on, especially their refurbs. I picked up an SC 10 (10 inch passive sub) for $110 w/ a Fathers Day coupon. They are throwing in headphones right now.

Haven't done too much extensive listening on the SC 10 yet. I am using it on my 2nd system, which is a 12 x 13 ft office/hookah room. Once I found the best spot for the sub (of my limited options due to the room's size) and calibrated it, I did do some listening. The sub easily pressurizes the room, even w the double doors open. The sub is well made (this small sucker weighs in at almost 40lbs). Cabinet seems very well braced. I am powering this w a Bash plate amp that once powered my Outlaw sub.

Velodyne subwoofers will be back. German based Audio Reference has bought the brand, patents, designs and tooling and also brought back the Velodyne design team. It was announced in Stereonet (Australia) a few days ago. Great news. I was abou to ditch my 3 Velodyne subs.

Default Velodyne, playback distribution partner for U.S.; SPL-X subs to debut at CEDIA

Source: soundandvision

Quote:
Velodyne Acoustics has appointed Playback Distribution as its U.S. distributor. The partnership will debut at CEDIA 2025.

Velodyne says the agreement will provide integrators and dealers with consistent access to its subwoofer lineup and expanded support in the U.S. market.

Velodyne will launch a dedicated U.S. website, velodyneusa.com, for product information, warranty registration, dealer lookup, and technical support.

At CEDIA 2025, Velodyne plans to introduce the SPL-X Series subwoofers as part of its U.S. rollout with Playback Distribution. The company positions SPL-X as the next step in its compact, installation-friendly subwoofer lineup, with control and integration options aimed at custom installers and two-channel systems. Demonstrations are planned on the show floor and in partner rooms.

Also scheduled for a U.S. debut are the SC-600 IW X in-wall speaker and the SC-1500 amplifier. Velodyne says the SC-1500 is designed for CI integration with configuration and tuning features intended to simplify setup and room integration; additional specifications and availability details are expected to be shared at the show.

Playback Distribution will handle logistics and dealer support for the brand in the U.S.

Velodyne, founded in 1983, is known for servo-controlled subwoofer technology and says it continues to develop low-frequency products for music, movies, and gaming.
