![]() Anyone playing much golf at the moment? I went out last Saturday - after a week of glorious sunshine - only to play 2 holes. We were called in due to heavy fog. We shouldnt have been allowed out at all really, coudnt see 50 yards ahead of us! |

No talk of the U.S. Open?
Anyways, I'm wondering if any of you guys think that golf shoes make a large enough difference to invest in? I've been golfing for quite a while, but I'm definitely not what you'd consider "good" ![]() People who use them, what's your opinion? |

![]() I think the shoes do make a difference. I mean, you could be on a course for 4 hours, so for a start you want something that is comfortable to wear for that length of time. Grip is also essential.. You dont want a very heavy shoe either. And make sure it is a very good water proof shoe (I guess depends on where you live) but there is nothing worse than playing a round with pools of water in your shoes!! ![]() |

Are most golf shoes water proof? I've never even thought of that, good point. WORST thing is stepping in a puddle on a beginning hole and having to play another 3.5hrs with wet socks. Last edited by Rike255; 06-25-2009 at 08:49 PM. |

Anyone use the Taylor Made driver with the adjustable weights that can be changed based on your swing? I'm planning on getting new woods and I've heard those drivers are among the most forgiving drivers. Also if you buy the driver you can get a fairway wood for $1. My local course has the Taylor Made drivers and they will work with you to figure out what configuration is the best for your swing.
I've been playing a lot of golf this year and am starting to improve. I just got a new set of Callaway X-22 irons and I really like those, although I'm still getting used to them. Growing up I didn't hit a lot of irons but I am now and it takes practice. I also just got a Odyssey 2-ball putter and I bet that putter has taken 8 strokes off my game. I'm much more comfortable with it. I'm still not a great golfer but I've improved a lot already this year and hopefully can get into the 80s by the end of the season. |
