I remember that. Chinese Connection was better. Had more meaning behind it.

I voted Star Wars but I don't consider nor think it's a remake. Some of the movies on there I don't consider remakes.

I think a lot of these "remakes" (Star Wars, Batman Begins/Dark Knight, etc) are under very loose terms of the word.

The best remakes, if you define them as movies based off the same material:

The Wizard of Oz (Garland version)
Maltese Falcon (Bogart version)

I agree that these are very loose, because I don't consider Scarface a remake

I would say. They hadn't seen the original. You almost have to: to fully appreciate it. So many things in the remake, depend on you seeing both films. It was a loving tribute after all.

“It was beauty that killed the beast.”
My problem with King Kong can be summed up in two words: Jack Black. He seemed horribly miscast and for me ruined every scene he was in. He seemed to think he was in one of his usual screwball comedies while every else was making a dramatic film.

I really did want to love it. I blind-bought the collector's edition DVD set, with the sculpture. I watched it once and haven't had any desire to pull it back out of the box.

I couldn't figure one out either, but nonetheless I voted for "The Man Who Knew Too Much"

I can't believe people think the 05' remake of King Kong is better than the 76' remake though

Have you seen the original???? It was called "Scarface" much of the plot was the same (no freedom town at the beginning) His "partner" is attracted to his sister (Who he gives money too, just like the Pacino version) etc etc....

IT IS A REMAKE...... really not too hard to see the similarities

I voted for "King Kong", however "The Thing" stands right beside it in my book. Also, how come no one has mentioned "3:10 to Yuma"? Fabulous remake!, and how about "Heaven Can Wait" (1978)
