LOL, the theatrical poster was much better. Custom cover for that one for me!

Ugh. That's really bad. Really goes against the tone of the film. Ugh again.

The movie is called "The Wrestler," which is about a wrestler named Randy "The Ram." This is "the rams" signature move. How does that not fit the mood of the movie? Should the cover feature him injecting himself with steroids, or doing coke off a *****s ass?

No he doesn't. The mood and story/character are not the same thing.

Thought that cover looked shit when it was released a week or so again. It looks like his torso is facing in a different direction to his lower body.

Should have stuck with the theatrical poster of Rourke slumped over the ropes in my opinion.

Please continue to explain yourself instead of having me drag it out of you. What type cover would fit "the mood" of the movie better than having the main character doing his "signature" move?

They need to film a biopic about Mick Foley. Now that's a wrestler for you.

Without giving the movie away too much, I'm guessing he thinks the theatrical poster where he is slumped over the ropes is a much better fit to the mood/feel of the film. Which I personally believe. It's not about a high flying, agile wrestler. It's about an aging one dealing with life.

I think this cover was chosen by the studio to entice those browsers in stores who don't know much about the movie, but have heard good things. This cover would suggest it's got some cool wresting action. Whereas that is actually an extremely small part of the film.

I never said the cover didn't fit the movie. I was just pointing out that it doesn't match the mood of the movie. The movie poster did a better job of that, and I'd actually prefer that, but it's not like I dislike the one they're going with.

The post above mine explains it pretty well.

The main thing I don't like about the cover, if anything, is that bar across the top. I don't know how many times they've used that "Witness the resurrection of Mickey Rourke" line. It's disappointing if that's how they have to try to sell the movie.

I don't really mind the cover honestly, but I don't see how anyone who has seen the film could think the cover is congruous with the tone of the film.
