i might like green and you might like red, but for me to say green is better than red because that's what i like is not a fair comparison
Once again i'm not saying i hate polk, i'm just getting tired of people posting on how good they are and pushing people on this site into buying them without demoing other brands. don't buy speakers online before you hear them just because someone told you how good they are, go and listen to them and judge for yourself.

Just to repeat myself

Just my thoughts

ummmm, would you rather they push Bose ?

Polk speaker might be a little higher priced than your typical speakers. but they are a great bargain. Once set up and with a good amp, they will blow any other speaker way WITHIN THE SAME PRICE RANGE. Polk offers a pretty big line up of speakers for every different type of set up. Polk customer service is top notch.

I own a pair of 20+ year old Polk SDA speakers.. and they still support them. Try getting that same kind of customer support from say Sony speakers, etc.

Everyone has their favorite type of speaker brand. This may just not be your brand.

I think you're mistaking which Polk speakers most people have and talk about here with Polk's highest end speakers. You can without a doubt find better speakers compared to Polk's highest end speakers in the range ($1500+). People boast about their Monitor 50's and 60's (which are the most common here) because they do sound great and can be had at prices that no other new speakers in the price range can really even touch. Polk's highest end vintage speakers (SRS systems and SDA SRS 1.2TL's and such) would tear apart probably any speakers under $5k or more. They are just that good. My Polk SDA II speakers best any speakers I've heard so far and never leave me wanting more. There is no way that you could find any speaker new that is anywhere close to what I paid for my SDA's. Same goes for my Monitor surrounds (they are the vintage Monitor ones as well).

I am young, but there used to be an etiquette to buying speakers. You audition them, find which ones you like, and if someone takes the time like a good salesman should, you reward them with the sale. It is because of stuff like an eBay retail page for Polk that drives companies out of business, especially the best mom and pop shops.

At least Polk makes an attempt to connect with the consumer who is looking to save quite a bit of money in the economy such is the one we're in by offering superior customer service and excellent condition items that are factory refurbished with, in almost all cases, flawless condition and always 100% full warantees with affordable shipping and money-back guarantees. If something comes in broken (like a grill), a replacement one can be ordered free under warantee. How is that all bad?

Oh BS. You can't say that Polk's eBay site is one of the reasons for driving away smaller companies. Name one place that sold only used Polk Audio gear and has gone out of business. Right.
