Yeah,

I suppose I over-reacted too,... forgive me if possible.

I think it's great actually that the Geek Squad is helping people out and I have been at Best Buy and seen some of the advertising for the services and just stood and watched it for a few minutes.

I'm passionate about my HT hobby to a fault. I know I'm not as crafy as anyone in the car audio installation department even at Best Buy and I'm sure that Magnolia Hi Fi locations have knowledge-able people.

I wouldn't fault Best Buy actually if they couldn't perform calibration on my set because it's far more difficult than any of the display technologies that replaced it.

I may move on from CRT FP at some point and I'm considering Sxrd Front projection.. That's something I know they could set up but I would still enjoy doing that myself.

Hey, forgive me for getting your name wrong. Sorry, I used to know a Bruce Hampton, and it stuck with me. I was at dinner tonight when it hit me that I used the wrong name in my reply.

Once agian, do you own a brake lathe to resurface rotors? Let me guess, you buy crappy aftermarket junk?
$22 to have the rotors turned sure beats the $200 or more in labor plus the mark-up on cheap parts to have them done.. and I know it is done right when I button it up. Most brake shops don't even know how to properly seat the pads so that molecular partical transfer doesn't start to cause what is wrongly called "warping". And no I don't use cheap parts; I use slotted rotors and carbon-metalic pads to stop my 8000 pound beast.

EE? because we all no you can't spell GEEK with a EE! I just think for the money they do a fine job if people do not have the knowlege/expirience/equipment to do it themselves. We have to keep the money flowing and U.S economy going.
Actually it is the purchase of hard goods made in this country that keeps the economy going, not buying useless services on credit or charging fees to generate paper. It is not my responsibility to go into debt to pay for things such as having somebody plug in my TV. It is as much of a sham as buying an extended warranty.

Yea, but that is not a ISF calibration like you originally stated you could do.

I could tear this apart, but will not. I have worked in the auto industry since I was 20.

Not true. When ever money is exchanged it stimulates the economy. If nobody paid for GS services, those guys would be out of work. When the money trickles done to the employee, he pays bills, and buys other goods and/or services that may help you keep your job.
