Yeah, that was Sony though. They even advertised Lawrence of Arabia years ago and it still has yet to make an appearance.

I can't wait for Heat. Hoping for a digibook on this one. It will then be the 4th time I've purchased the film (VHS, 1 disc & 2-disc dvds before it).

Where is Sky Captain in this thread? Doesn't the avatar beg your contribution? I think so.

Both Heat and North by Northwest will be Day 1 purchases for me! These are two of my most anticipated catalog releases of the year, although Digital Bits says Apocalypse Now and Three Days of the Condor will also be out in '09.

I dont understand how any of you can get excited about a warner release. they have one of the most largest catalog titles in movies and it makes me upset that this studio doesn't know how to transfer anything.

Sony Wb, whomever, its common practice now for titles to be announced then withdrawn for whatever reason without notice

Warner had pretty bad implementation of TrueHD. I was watching Men In Black the other day (Sony release) and the TrueHD track was very impressive. Having said that, Warner did get it right in The Dark Knight. If they fark this sound track up, I am going ballistic on their asses

Rubbish

I own a few Warner titles and yes possibly there back catalog don't compare to more modern films in picture quality.

None the less i have been very satisfied with the likes The Shawshank Redemption, Bonnie And Clyde, The Matrix Trilogy, The Shining, Training Day, Mad Max 2, Unforgiven, Twister, The Wild Bunch and L.A. Confidential

It's sad to think they might think that way, but it seems like Warner at least knows to give the right movies a good treatment, although they really shouldn't skimp on any title.

That said, I just hope whatever they do, they do the audio justice. That shootout scene needs to be heard in a fantastic 7.1 lossless track.

Warner only do 5.1

Maybe another special edition years from now will have a 7.1 or maybe even 11.1.
