I've been hanging around for some time already and I have my PS3, so it's only logical

(I'm just waiting for Sony to release V3000s so I can finally decide with what I will replace my TH42-PV500...)

Which format do you want to win the high-definition disc competition? Why?

Blu-ray. Blu-ray has far more studio and consumer electronics support, greater capacity and potential to deliver REAL high definition, and is a far more adaptable format than HD DVD - the latter being little more than "DVD on steroids."

Which format would you prefer to buy right now? Why?

Blu-ray. Current Blu-rays deliver superior picture and audio quality, due to larger capacity discs. The main attraction for me is the film itself. extra features and novelties like picture-in-picture information are negligible.

I'm new as well. Gave detailed reasons as to why Blu-ray should win. Why they need to hear them from us is anyone's guess as they seem pretty self-explanatory to me, but I'm always glad to rant a little on anything that's true.
