Reminds me of another Watcher in the Woods, that was creepy when I was little.

These are the movies that scared me as a kid... in no order:

- The Exorcist (didn't even like church after this one.)
- Nightmare on Elm St. (couldn't sleep)
- Halloween (original movie that i thought this _could_ happen.)
- Jaws (i live in boston, so those summer trips to the Cape were umm.. restless!)
- Wax Works? (the original, not that Paris Hilton crap!)
- The 'Burbs (i don't know why, but this scared me when I was like 5!)

... and Session 9 scared me when I was like 18. This movie NEEDS a blu release. (even though I don't think it will ever happen!) I've been to that state mental hospital and my mother-in-law worked their in the 70's!

Would It be considered a movie or a miniseries?

Exorcist
The Shining
[Rec]
The Orphanage (The ending creeped me out) An awesome movie regardless.
The Descent
An American Werewolf In London
Hellraiser 1&2 (One is great, two scared me when I was a kid)
Nightmare on Elm Street
Omen (I did it all for you Damien!!) Nuff said.

These are movies that have truly scared me.

I would love to put 28 Days Later in there, but it didn't scare me, it's just an excellent horror film.

Inside as well. Very disturbing, but didn't scare me.

The Thing

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Halloween

Psycho

All are great movies, but didn't have a huge scare factor.

For a 70's TV mini-series that one was very creepy.

Possibly only topped by It.

Now, nothing done in a movie scares me. Gotta love being desensitized!
I thought I was the only one.... Large Marge scared the he11 outta me too. Also, Candyman scared the sh*t outta me when I was a kid.

More recently, the movies that kind of scared me were the Skeleton Key (kinda hit close to home since I'm from New Orleans) and Mirrors.

Believe it or not, I've never seen the first Hellraiser. It's coming out on Blu next month. Is it really scary?

Aren't they remaking IT? I saw something about it last week, might've even been on here.

The original Halloween and Michael Myers scared the shit out of me when I saw it as a kid, right before bed, at the cottage, with my window facing a dark dirt road. I was freaked out.

The Shining is a damn good movie and don't enjoy watching that alone haha.

Have to mention The Ring for the
[Show spoiler]scene where she is coming out of the screen
, everyone in that theatre was genuinely freaked out, it didn't have the same effect on DVD.

As well there have been really tense moments in movies, like in Zodiac with
[Show spoiler]the scene in the basement. I was watching it alone, around sunset so it was dark and no lights on, in the basement and my cats upstairs randomly creeking around
, I was a little tense.

I agree with what a lot of people posted, but I must say if you haven't seen Session 9, you are missing out on a freakin great movie. It is literally creepy as hell. You can youtube the trailer and OH MAN you will not be disappointed.

Are you kidding? Event Horizon is not even close to being scary. Especially since it was directed by Paul WS Anderson. It was one big yawn fest for me. I saw it in the theater and seriously wanted my money back.
