Unless I find some good stuff in this game, then I'll pick it up.
The Campaign mode shows Character Progression.

If a campaign will have a decent story for a character, then I might consider picking this up. Rather than other fighting games with no story:/

I like the sprite design though, but could it be better than Street Fighter 3 Fight for the Future sprite? SF3 has the best sprite animtation, they move so soft, smooth and fluidy.
Ummm I dont want to sound rude, but who the "hardcore" fighting fans you hang out with? SF, KoF, MvC, GG, etc are staples of hardcore fighting gamers. Take a look at the EVO tournament lineup of games and look at all the 2D games being played. Those are the true hardcore fighting game fans
I second that. 2D fighters are typically the most hardcore. Though there are exceptions like Virtua Fighter. Hope you're not referring to WWE and UFC games...

Has BlazBlue shipped or any pre-orders arrive at brick-and-mortar shops for any one yet?

Today is the shipping date since today is June 30th so more then likely the B&M Gamestop locations will probably have it by tomorrow if the stores don't get them today unless there is something wrong with the shipment kind of like how Cross Edge was a month ago on how the shipment was messed up probably because of Memorial Day.

Truthfully, I have not bought a 2d fighter in a long long time. However this game has piqued my interest! Especially with the remote play feature.

Question, with remote play if I am near a wifi hotspot does that mean I can play this game on the go through my PS3?

I'm not a huge fighter fan and will likely never play this, but I love the graphics/art

Places like Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, and so on seem to only be getting the popular series now(or at least thats how it feels like to me anyways).

Not sure about other regions but this game was delayed a few days in Canada. Gamestop is saying July 2nd or 3rd which is Thursday or Friday.

I do like some fighters, but there is kind of a glut right now--particular with MvC2 and Tekken 6 in the pipeline. A BlazBlue demo is definitely warranted I think.

Man I want this game so bad and I haven't put the time into SFIV I've wanted to. I would just like a 2D fighter to compliment SFIV and I'm not really into KoF.

got mine earlier today at Gamestop. There were dozens of them for both PS3 and 360 (but then again, I live in NYC). I was waiting in line for like 15 minutes because the guy behind the counter wouldn't shut up about how amazing the game is. He looked surprised when I asked him for it, only person all day haha.

It's pretty sick thus far, though I couldn't find many people online to play. It's definitely a tough game to master based on the tutorial videos. But it's really easy to pick up and learn.

Oh and get an arcade stick if you can. The game is made easier for use with controllers by assigning special moves (ones that requires Hadouken-esque directional/attack inputs) to simple flicks of the right analog stick. Using an arcade stick makes the moves easier to do without copping out.
