PS3 RE5 outsells 4:1 first day in Japan, PS3 hardware top

I've seen it first hand with the stores I run. If you release an exclusive to the worst installed base and then later release it on the leader....you lose a ton of sales. How much money did MS pay them exactly? I remember one of SE's sales sheets for their RPGs said MS was paying them a lot of marketing dollars but surely that can't make up for all the lost PS3 sales....could it?

remember: ffxiii is still exclusive to ps3 in japan. the reason they're releasing it multiplat in other countries is because the 360 install base is much larger. makes sense as a company.

Hes not talking about FF13 there. Hes talking about RPGs that are xbox exclusive like SO4, Last Remnant, Infinite Undescovery, etc. It does NOT make sense to make those games xbox exclusive in Japan or anywhere.

While, we're on the topic of Sega Saturn, I have to rep the 3 best games for that system (besides all the "arcade perfect fighters" with the 4mb mem cart):

- Guardian Heroes
- Saturn Bomberman
- Dragon Force

At this point I sense they dont care.. so when and if SO4 comes to the ps3 then I will buy it then.. I love SO franchise.

I care because it DOES effect everything overall. There's stuff like FFXIII being delayed here so they can finish the 360 version. Thats ridiculous and unfair. The games that have gone multi platform are usually lesser on the PS3 because the company focuses on the 360 version since it's easier to develop for, then do a crappy port over to the PS3.

And just multi-platform in general is taking the fun out of owning a particular system (almost). Why even have two different systems if every single game is on all of them!!

Now, PS3 is a better console no matter how you look at it. From build quality and reliability to over capability, it's just better than the 360. Thats fine if you absolutely HAVE to play Halo and Gears and prefer the 360, but it is an inferior console, it's basically original XBOX with better graphics, it has done nothing to push the envelope of next gen gaming. Just like the Wii is pretty much Gamecube with motion controls... but thats a whole other rant.

Sony has been good to me as a customer since my first Playstation when I was 7 (okay since my parents were their customer then), now I'm 21 and they've earned a customer for life. I'm loyal to them because they deserve it and it's disappointing to see the companies they've built up break their loyalty to Sony.

Thats why I care.
