Not at all. His track record for remakes (Sleepy Hollow, Planet Of The Apes, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory) in my opinion, is extremely disappointing.

On a random note: That darn Phil Collins song pops into my head everytime I see your name.

And this is exactly how I imagine him acting as "The Riddler" if he were to be cast in that role in a Batman film.

Tim Burton ? Alice in Wonderland ? This is something I am curious to see. The mix should prove interesting.

I don't remember POTA but I like the other two...

I'm just really not over him having to use an older girl AND giving her a different hair style/look.

Will be interesting to see how he made everyone else look.

Sleepy Hollow and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were not remakes. They were new reimaginings of books or short stories.

Those films are "remakes" as much as his Batman film was. A new adaptation of existing literature that had previously been adapted to film does not equal a film being remade.

Default Woah Like Duuuuuuude.......

It looks like we're both wrong. I just found this in the pages of a book titled: Re-Philosophy.

1.) If the movie contains material which originated from a non-movie form of media (book, etc.), it is then made into a movie. Each movie thereafter about that same material is called a re-make. Same rules apply for sequels.

2.) But.....if the material originates from a movie & is not a sequel, then it's re-imagined or re-booted with each subsequent movie.

"Be formless, shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup...it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle...it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot...it becomes the teapot. Water can flow and it can crash. Be water my friend."

So...what's the classification for when Tim goes in saying "This new version'll be totally different!--We're not doing a remake: We'll do a new version of Planet of the Apes closer to the original book!...Except it'll be completely made up, we'll throw in a geek-ref 'Damn dirty apes' joke, and keep an eye out for the Charlton Heston cameo?"

(And no, "Confusion" and "Laziness" have already been used.)

I enjoy Burton's talent and unique perspective in films, but am surprised he dosn't get off this fantasy re-make kick. He is too good for this nonsense.

Tim, write some original scripts and start making real movies that real people even want to see again. Alice in Wonderland? Please.....

So excited for this, I'm really glad it's going to be in IMAX, too. It'll also be great to see what Johnny does with his role as the Mad Hatter.
