Yeah...the girls stuck with their parents! I remember that. All of them wanting to slide away for a day or even just a nite. Still, there was enough action happening on the strip to get even an ugly mofu like me happy! LOL! And yeah again...never heard of that DSOTM and OZ combo either. Don't think I want to either. Blasphemy I say! ![]() ![]() John |

I have a feeling that I'm going to be hated on, but here goes: I love Pink Floyd and, even more so, Roger Waters - one of the best songwriters ever. But, from an audiophile perspective, I never understood why people fawned over them so much. Sure, the production and engineering is top notch, but Nick Mason was never a favourite drummer of mine. Specifically, although not a bad drummer, I don't think he has a "sound", that is, he doesn't get a tone out of the drums the way drummers such as Phil Collins, Jeff Porcara, Andy Newmark, etc. do, and, as such, I have always found Pink Floyd recordings to be a little "thin". Now, Roger Waters' solo material (with drummers such as Andy Newmark, Graham Bond, etc.) is a whole other story and is some of my favourite recordings (I highly recommend "Amused to Death"). So, I love Pink Floyd, but I don't think any new treatments will make them sound any better. Just sayin'.

Looks like we finally might be getting the Roger Waters - The Wall concert film.

I'm assuming you have all the Pink Floyd that's been released on Blu already.
DSotM, WYWH, The Division Bell... and related things like Remember that Night and the documentaries about Dark Side and WYWH... Seems there's quite a lot of PF on Blu already... not that there shouldn't be a lot more. ![]() |

Then in my twenties when I was mister know it all, I went back with my 1990 Honda CRX SI with a kenwood CD deck and two ten inch woofers in the back blaring cruising down the beach. Brings back old memories as this girl stopped my car and complimented my ride. We hooked up and it was coincidence because she was from Toronto too. I have been waiting for the wall on SACD patiently as I have this in red book. I don't have one Bluray audio disc but would purchase one if it came out. I used to draw the album all the time in my teenage days. Drawing albums used to be a hobby of mine when I was a teenager. |

I would definitely buy The Wall on SACD. Despite being a Floyd enthusiast going back to jr high, I have never owned The Wall in any format. I'm much more of a David Gilmour fan than Roger Waters and Gilmour really took a back seat in contributing to The Wall, which was a total Waters "concept" AFAIC. But I would buy it on the merits of Comfortably Numb alone.

It was announced today that The Wall will be released in select theaters this December, but I'm relatively sure it's talking about the concert film. I saw the concert in Kansas City back in 2010 (hard to believe I wasn't even 18 yet) so I'd definitely like to pick it up on Blu-ray should it see a release.

Hopefully it'll come out the same time as the concert film. But it needs a LOT of work. It plays in HD now and then on the Encore channels, and it looks horrible. Dust, scratches, jitter, washed out... I'd love to see this movie get the deluxe treatment it deserves, cleaned up by Criterion or Lowry Digital, maybe a multi-disc release with a Blu-Audio of the album. (Yeah, I know, unlikely.)

Absolutely! The Wall is my favorite album. I dream of a great 5.1 release of the album. Oh how I wish Steven Wilson could get his hands on this one.
