to me open season is the best animated movie I have seen on blu-ray so far. I am really excited for Surfs Up. That movie is so bright and colorful I can only imagine it on blu-ray

That might be true but there is something to this since PAIDGEEK himself has stated in the Insiders thread that Weinstein is working on future Blu-Ray releases. On Universal well that is something completely different.

I watched it last night with my two kids and invited my parents over. (I'm trying to convince them that they need to go blu.) It was a good movie, and my kids absolutely loved it. The PQ was GREAT, and an over-all good family flick. I'd definitely recommend it.

would you recommend it to a 22 year old? i'm always looking for new blu rays to buy..i'd also like to know if it would have any replay value..some movies i watch once and never have the urge to watch ever again..i just have a feeling this might be one of those movies...is it too cheesy for someone my age? if it is, i might have to end up buying the final fantasy movie, even though that kinda sucked too

I am 21 and I really liked the movie. I am a little biased just due to the fact that I was really into ninja turtles when I was younger. To me it seems like a movie I could watch multiple times just because it is so easy. You are never really out of the mood with that type of movie. It looks great and if you don't really feel like thinking to much it (long days work, etc.) it is a very easy watch. I have my copy coming from amazon shortly.

That's really what is boils down to. I was a Turtles diehard, and this movie was pure nostalgia for me. I searched so many places for it yesterday that I'm burnt out today.

Exactly. You couldn't find it anywhere? Should have checked the bigger B&M stores like best buy. They had a couple copies where I live.

I was a Turtles fanatic when I was younger, but the movie didn't really excite me as much as I thought it would. It didn't really feel like the old cartoon or the old movies, it was kind of it's own thing. The fight scene between Raphael and Leonardo was ridiculously awesome for fans.

I feel like this is the kind of movie I can play in the background while I'm doing other things. I'm not sure if I could sit through it again unless someone else I know wants to see it.

I looked damn near everywhere. I actually skipped Best Buy yesterday because it was packed full. I called them and they said they had none. Weird. It's nowhere to be found.

I was a fan of the turtles growing up. I saw TMNT yesterday and although the PQ was amazing, I thought that some of the storylines could have been better.

I didn't like the whole 13 monsters and immortal generals storyline but I did like the storyline involving the turtles.

Never call Best Buy or Circuit City and ask if they have items in stock. Most of the time they are to lazy to even look. Might try going over their and checking it out.

It was quite a pain to find (eventually ended up picking it up at Fry's after hitting two Targets and Virgin) but WOW...

From the first shot of a few blades of grass immediately after the opening sequence to the rooftop fight in the rain between Raphael and Leonardo (the textures and the detail is incredible). I would say this rivals Pirates in terms of the picture feeling three dimensional. The Turtles, especially in close up, just pop right off the screen.

Special features are 4x3 SD, which was a bit of a disappointment. Also during deleted and extended scenes, you can't turn off commentary by Kevin Monroe which is a bit annoying. But picking nits aside, this disc is fantastic.

For anyone that wants a more "credible" source I suppose.

Here is highdefdigests review of TMNT.

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/901/tmnt.html

4.5 PQ
4.5 AQ

sounds like a winner.

Mine's on its way from BlockBuster Online. It was actually available right off the bat, no "Very Long Wait" crap. Maybe they're realizing the BD demand finally and preparing better?

Anyone else see Blockbuster becoming more efficient with BD?

yeah ive just received some pretty easily. But then again it was only music and lyrics and blue planet, not sure how big the demand is on those movies.

This one is simply the best looking movie I own. HD-DVD has shot themselves again with the god awful combo disc. what a terrible idea those things were. anyone who supports both has no choice but to get the Blu version.
