okay so due to an overwhelming response to feedback from people wanting to know what blockbuster is going to do this month for blus promotion. i've done some investigating and here are the details. first; unfortunately this will be the third month since Hitman in January that there will be no $9.99 title on sale at blockbuster. Secondly; the 2 for 30 previously viewed bluray sale is now done. however, there are a few titles being reduced to a killer $9.99 price point in the previously viewed section. i've listed them below. Thirdly; all the alliance titles that were on sale for the month of march have now gone back up in price to 24.99 and above. In return there are about 10-20 other retail blu titles that have been reduced in price ranging from the 17.99 to 19.99. here is a list of some of the titles going on sale beginning April 6th that should be on sale for this month: (please keep in mind, there are all new (not used)
10,000BC $19.99 300 $17.99 Babylon AD $19.99 Blazing Saddles $17.99 Fools Gold $19.99 Get Smart (3 disc edition w/ DC) $19.99 Goodfellas $17.99 Horton Hears a Who (w/ DC) $19.99 I Am Legend $19.99 Madagascar $19.99 Man on Fire $19.99 Max Payne (2disc) $19.99 Mr. & Mrs. Smith $19.99 P.S I Love You $19.99 Point Break $19.99 Risky Business $17.99 Sahara (repkg) $19.99 Superman Returns $17.99 Training Day $17.99 Warriors (Ult Dir Cut) $19.99 NEW** Previously Viewed Blus - April Sale: Vantage Point $9.99 Prom Night $9.99 Drillbit Taylor $9.99 The Eye $9.99 Burn After Reading $12.99 21:Movie (Kevin Spacy) $12.99 What Happens in Vegas $12.99 **keep in mind these are reg sales prices (not promo offers) so you can definitely combine any coupons you have on top of them to lower the price even further down from 17 n 19 which should make some of these titles good buys brand new. i will continue to monitor the prices for this month and edit this post by adding/ removing any titles that come on or go off sale, so check bk every Monday (weekly) thanks guys, and good hunting!! P.S - on a separate note just wanna send a shoutout to snyderman for being kind enough to post me a james bond $5 off coupon. thanks again bud -thecardman23 Last edited by thecardman23; 04-08-2009 at 08:14 PM. |

went to another location and also picked up Australia and Role Models (2 Used for $30). The deal was over but they still had their little sign up so they had to give it to me haha. You should check and see if they still have their signs up to take advantage of some new used titles :]

Cardman23,
I was in my local Blockbuster about 2 hours ago (Burlington) & after asking what BluRays were on sale I was shown the PV section & told, "this is it, no new discs on sale..". Since the manager wasn't there I couldn't ask him & it probably is that the sales clerk I was talking to was behind the times & not aware of what was going on. But it brings up a question, do the sales apply chain wide or can some stores opt out if they choose to?. Thanks, Peter |

Thanks, cardman!
![]() ![]() Question: Where are you guys getting these $5 off coupons? We don't get those newspaper inserts around these parts and the gal at the counter said the only other way to get the coupon was via the BBV "purchase points" program (using your BBV member card). ![]() |

to answer ur question peter.. no store can opt out the the sale, all canadian stores from halifax to vancouver have the same promo deals across the board. some stores are much slower than others in implementing, making their staff aware and advertising the promotions which is why unfortunately alot of time customers can have difficulty getting a standard correct answer across the board.
and yes crowshow.... anytime your having difficulty with blockbuster employees not believing you, the best thing to do is ask them to check their "mag" which every store is suppose to have and the mag details all the promotions and sales going on in the country for that month and what all stores should do to follow them. now in this case the mag would tell the employees the names of the titles on sale, but not the prices cuz those are sent out via email update. which is why checked both on my last shift sunday and just combined the two for you guys in this thread to make it simple and easy, rather than having to question a random blockbuster employee about every title on sale and for what price. finally - thanks for the kind words mark. In the last few years in working for the company i've realized blockbuster has alot of flaws in how its setup and advertises promotions and what information it gives out to customers, and how it treats them. so i do my best here to try and correct their mistakes and give them a helping hand, but moreso give you guys a headsup on how to get good deals whenever they have em, cuz i know i love any place that provides me with good customer service and will always want to go back there. i wouldn't mind one day moving into their headoffice (if their still around) and make the changes i see they need so badly at the store level to provide customers like yourselves with the service that will make you happy to re-visit. and as for the $5 off coupons... yeah, most people get them through the movie buyers bonus (which is exactly what was mentioned before, if you have a blockbuster membership, you simply add your email address to the accnt and make all your purchases under there. every $50 you spend they sent you a $5 coupon off movie any purchase in the store. but often times they have coupons available in newspaper adds or most recently for the month of april, there are coupons in the new release movie rentals ($5 off any retail dvd/ bluray purchase) and ($3 off pv purchase dvd/bluray) i myself have found 2 coupons in my recent rentals of tale of despereaux and doubt last week from my store. i'm sure their meant as promo offers for customers across the country, but heck i snagged em for myself and plan to get some good saving out of them :-) so just keep your eyes and ears open and these extra coupon deals are always around to be had at blockbuster. they love coupon promos! lol Last edited by thecardman23; 04-08-2009 at 05:16 AM. |
