because you would need to buy those Xbox Live cards that are like having a magazine subscription because thats the highest they can go which is 13 months and then you have to buy another one when that one expires but on PS3 its free

Well aparantly, Sony seems to be trying out the PSN card thing on a different variety of stores, so you might see it somewhere else soon enough.

Makes sense. Who hasn't had to get someone a gift, but forgot about it til 15 minutes before so go in a gas station to buy lottery tickets or something.

Fort Gordon, GA might be one of those towns or cities that marketers use as their "testing ground" sort of. Its demographic might resemble the greater US. I am just guessing here though.

Default Update on PSN Cards

Quote:
As many of you have been asking for the PLAYSTATION Network Cards (especially in light of the huge PLAYSTATION Store content update yesterday)), we are excited to let you know that we have a full roll-out at major retailers on the way. The PLAYSTATION Network Cards will be available at Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam’s Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008. Cards are available in $20.00 and $50.00 denominations and are currently offered at BLOCKBUSTER, Pamida, Meijer Superstores and Speedway store locations.

We’ll continue to update you as these cards are available in these stores and as they become available in more retail locations.
Nice! I went to search for any news update for PSN cards at the Blog and there it was.

Still waiting for the EU announcment. Even though I got my prepaid card today, I still want the PSN cards to come over from across the pond.

I've had a prepaid credit card for a while now but boy, is it a rip off. You pay $5 to put money on the card and every month $5 is taken out of your card for maintenance fee.

Well my card allows a charge of €20 with now strings attached. If you want to deposit between €30-€100 however, its an extra €5, and an extra €10 if you want between that and its maximum, which is €350. At least it's better than what you're getting.

I bought mine for $20. You pay $5 to put money in it, which can be between $10 to $1000. But they still take $5 out of your card every month. I think mine is a better deal.

Oh, and mine is from Wal-Mart. I'm just glad they're bringing out these cards.
