+1 Very good AQ on that title. Also, nobody has mentioned Wanted or Max Payne. Demo worthy titles to show off your sound system.

This is a definite +1. The times I've watched this movie when they're down in the sub, with all the creeking and ambient sounds I always look over my shoulder. Gets me everytime! Not to mention the depth charges. Hory Chit!! Make sure granny has a new diaper when you play this movie or she'll drop her own 'charge'.

How is Top Gun for a soundtrack? If Behind Enemy Lines was good, Top Gun should make your ears clap.

Top Gun sounds crazy when the jets are taking off. It'll really give your speakers a workout.

We have to be fair to Saving Private Ryans opening scenes though. The ricochets and wizz-byes make it pretty darn immersive. Puts you right there with them.

I agree that subtle sounds in general are underappreciated though. The Orphanage is subtle to the point of being non subtle...if that makes sense.

Just some real good surround sound from that movie from the dialogue coming from different speakers to the leaves rustling, traffic and explosions... all of it. One of my favorites to watch!

Twister and basically all Pirates of the Caribbean movies. On Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End in the beginning, it really sounds like there are people walking on a boardwalk above you. It seriously gave me chills when I heard it for the first time on my system. In Twister, the lightning on my system sounds like it is coming from miles away yet it seems like it comes from one spot and you could blindly point out where it is coming from. Untraceable has some eerie lightning and rain scenes as well. Same can be said for Unchanted, which is also a surprisingly good surround track.

Yeah I was amazed with twister, the audio was awesome on that one. But one of my fav scenes it the first shoot out scene in Live Free or Die Hard when they first come after the hacker kid with all those automatic weapons, OH wow, every shot has an amazing thump, it is glorious.

It really added to the movie.

Major +1 -- Just watched the opening part of that movie today to test my Monitor 30's that arrived, and after I built 2 temporary Sub Risers for my 2 PSW-10's (& after filling the back of the ports with Polyfill), I was like, "HOLY SH__T!!" WHOA!! Talk about having to turn Down both subs, and the 30's---Amazing clarity and Clean Audio.

Gun battles are cool especially in video games Call of Duty 4 Resistance 1&2 Killzone 2 simply amazing. As far as movies I prefer submarine or at sea movies.U-751 and Master and Commander= And even though its a kids movie I am telling you guys The Water Horse as a great sound mix.

I really wish that a US release of Children of Men would come into existence, with lossless audio. The Bexhill "Uprising" combat sequence is so intoxicatingly visceral and very dynamic even on the DVD.

the HD-DVD release of the movie has a very strong DD+ (1.5mbps) thats been out for 2 years now. you'd be hard pressed to hear the difference between that track and a true HD track.

Let us not forget the helicopters in Black Hawk Down and others for a great surround experience. Police/Firetruck/Ambulance sirens are also very deceptive I can never tell anymore whether it is a movie sound effect or the real thing going by.
