Bill Lawrence's comments last week parallel JD's final thoughts in the episode about not knowing what is in store for the future until we actually experience it. He was saying how people are assuming season nine wouldn't be good but we don't know that for sure. From a business perspective it could be hard to part with, but they've ended a quality show on a very strong note, I'm sure they could continue it somehow but I truly do not want them to. I have closure to Scrubs. I have closure to Arrested Development, I don't need a movie. I hope they do what is best though.

"What has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap? Bob Kelso, pleased to meet you!"

"Young man, do you not realize you're nothing but a giant pair of scrubs to me?"

Really going to miss this show. It truly was one of the best sitcoms ever.

Amazing finale, loved the corridor scene, scenes like that are what make the show one of a kind. Also the video montage was very touching without being over-the-top and cliche, would expect nothing but the best from the Scrubs people and I feel we got the best. Don't bring it back, no movie, just let it be what it was, a fantastic comdedy that brought it strong every episode!!

Yeah, don't think they should bring it back either. Wife and I wanted it back but then after seeing the finale and how perfectly they wrapped it up and ended it we think they shouldn't come back.

ok, so I am confused- this is a season finale or series finale?

they went through the trouble of putting it on ABC for a year to then cancel it again?

granted Sarah Chalke looks to be having a more regular role on How I Met Your Mother after this weeks episode, but to have it come back for a season is sorta pointless.

Although, this ending was more appropriate then that stupid medeival one on NBC

the medevil one was a mid-season episode they shifted to the end.

this is the series finale...

But there are rumors that they want to bring it back for another season.

The future of this show is very uncertain. Nobody from the cast is signed for another season so if they went on it wouldn't be with the full cast. It's likely Zach Braff wouldn't return, and if he did it certainly wouldn't be as a full-time cast member. Creator Bill Lawrence would like it to return but he would be pulling double-duty as he has another new show (Cougar Town starring Courtney Cox). Sarah Chalke likely wouldn't return. Judy Reyes has said this season was her last. Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, and Neil Flynn are all working on pilots, and if those are picked up none of them would return. It's possible they could choose to go on with the current interns, or with a brand new cast. We'll find out in a couple weeks.

I hope they just let it end there. That was a great series finale, I think the most satisfying I've ever seen.

I'll miss the show though, it was sooooooo funny!

I'm an off-and-on fan, and I say let it rest. What stings more then the end of a great series: dragging it along and throwing out halfway attempts to keep it going.

I think the finale was perfect. Box it up, release the set, and let it age like a good wine. IMO

If they did bring it back, it (could) work because Sarah Chaulke has said she's open to return, all they need to do is find another main guy since Zach Braff doesn't want to return.

And it looks likely that Chalke will be joining How I Met Your Mother full time.

I would absolutely love this. She is awesome as Stella. Looks like it will be someone she introduces to him. So she may or may not be on full time.

Its a finale according to ABC. Many of us feel this is the true series finale but if ABC brings it back, its a season finale.

ABC had the option of broadcasting the show in 2001 but, like Monk, passed on it. NBC picked it up but by the seventh season was done with the show. The seventh season was to be the last but the writer's strike destroyed that idea. NBC allowed the show to go back into production and the producers chose the My Princess story to be the last episode on NBC. Bill Lawrence was unhappy with that and vowed that Scrubs would end on his terms. So he was either going to A) shoot full episodes with his own money for inclusion on the seventh season DVDs to close out the show or B) find another outlet to produce those shows.

ABC decided to pick up Scrubs to allow for a proper closer. The deal was that Scrubs got one last season but ABC had stipulations for this to happen. ABC never cancelled the show, the original broadcast deal was a one time season.

The finale was great and it wrapped it up better then any series finale has. JD and Turks kids together...awesome. JD fainting even better.

With that ending, to me the show is now over.

Only negative was Brendan Frasier not being there.

So JD turning off the lights and everything going dark, was that a nod to Fresh Prince?

I think it was a nod to a lot of series finales. If I remember correctly, Cheers did the same thing.

It was a great ending, and I will definitely miss the show, though it plays as reruns on too many channels. Anyway, I would have to say Seinfeld is still my favorite ending to a long running comedy. Definitely nothing wrong with this ending but Seinfeld was a brilliant ending.

I really felt like they could have done better, JD's imagining the great sendoff, was just not needed, they made Perry act entirely out of character, and I really wish we had never gotten a name for the janitor, even if they didn't specifically tell us which is was. I prefer to think of him as Mr. Jan Itor. I missed last week, so why exactly did J.D. Leave Sacred Heart? I know he's gone now, and Perry is going on to a drama on CBS and they are really trying to bring it back next year and a lot of news sites are reporting it will more than likely have a 9th season, so this was probably just a season finale and the interns will carry this on into cancellation next year.
