Love the Dynamat!

I have that in my doors also. Wish I could have outfitted the whole SUV, but can be pretty expensive.


I also must add..anyone with a decent system in their ride needs one of these:

Dynamat License Plate Kit

Have you ever heard a car coming down the road with the stereo playing, but the loudest part of the car is the rear license plate? Not a good thing.

the outer skin of the door is also matted with two layers.



i also used dynaliner and the xorb pads to further deaden the enclosure.



the baffles are fiberglass and birch - note the size of the midbasses... 8.5" !!!



these drivers produce serious midbass. it is akin to rapid fire machine guns in the legs - somewhat distracting from the overall experience at times, but in a love/hate kind of way.

That's bad ass.

My system has been lacking in the mid range department...I have some 6 1/2" Rockford Fosgates, but they just do not hit the mids very well.

8" would be sweet. Maybe even some 6x9's.

But I have not been into car systems for quite a while now. I do miss it, but with a baby on the way (any day now), my days of jamming are pretty much over.

I used to be a car audio enthus(all i thought about was car audio, seriously!), but as soon as HDTH really started emerging i started concentrating on HT. i really have been slackin' on my car audio ever since. but anyway, in my wife's Malabu i installed a Panasonic deck, Sony 1000w X'plode amp, and 2 MTX 10" subs. In my Oldsmobile i have Pioneer 5 1/2 door speakers, Pioneer 6x9 rears, 2 Sony X'plode 12" Subs, JL 1200w amp(subs), Power Acustics 300w amp(highs).

Just the stock Bose speakers and replaced stock stereo with alpine multi-changer in the trunk but I think I blew one of the rear speakers so I probably go ahead and replace both of them.

I have the stock units installed in the vehicles. I am not nearly as fussy with the auto sound as at home. Also, I had put in a Kenwood system in one car 20 to 25 years ago. Someone destroyed my dash board to get the unit out of the car. And that was in my apartment building parking lot. That pretty much soured me on putting a more expensive system in my cars.

That pretty much sums up my feelings..... besides.... with a jeep with 33" rock-crawling tires, when the top and doors are off, it sounds like I'm in a helicopter anyways

I've got an Alpine head unit CDA-9887. Four Infinity Kappa 6 1/2 and these are powered by and 4 channel Alpine Amp. In the trunk I have two Alpine Type R's and these are powered by a JL 500/1 amp.

In high School I knew this kid who stripped out his blazer and mounted 32, 10" subs. From a football field away or more the GROUND shook... I swear it was like a mini tremmer!! The windows were switched out to plexiglass the interrior was all removed and lined with 2 layers of dynamat top to bottom. It also had a custom center mount to mount something like 10 amps or something I forget. But it was LOUD none the less!! lol

notice Sony Xplode offer alot of bang for the buck if you want those low notes,not enough to be noticeable as a 800 watt bandpass enclosure,but it hits hard in a 12'' sealed box..


that's what i have & i find it to be plenty without having it as a monster bass machine

my speaker's are Sony's + tweeters in the front - 6x9 in the rear.
