I'm not entirely certain Raimi knows what genre fans want anymore. From the TV spots this looks rather CG heavy for a horror film, the kind of thing I'd expect from a PG-13 American remake of a far better foreign film, not a Raimi horror movie.

Haha, true.

I kind of wish we were into the future of digital cinema, and instead of reels of film, a company would just send theaters a digital file.

That way they could used their saved money (from printing reels) to make multiple cuts of a movie, and then we could have a PG-13 and an R Terminator Salvation, and people could easily have their choice of which one to see.

That'd work great for all rated R movies, if a studio wanted to take out the offending parts to drop it down to PG-13 to open it up to a bigger audience, while still giving people the ability to see the regular version, instead of waiting for an "uncut" or "unrated" DVD.

Shouldn't they be able to do that now with theaters that have digital projection? I mean the file is probably around 16GB or so and that could be d/led from the studio in about 3 days.

Just don't make the mistake of accidentally showing the R rated one to a PG-13 crowd. Though the difference would probably be down to a few extra swear words and nipplage.

I'm old school though.
Old school horror had none of what you are interested in. The 80's brought in boobs, swearing and gore as a cheap thrill. Some of the scariest films have none of what you want and if that is the case then it's a pity that you miss out on some fantastic films.

This may be good, but I will wait for the BD release. Horror movies and PG-13 just don't go well together IMO.
