Just read this on Techradar.com

"The special features for the forthcoming Star Wars saga Blu-ray box-set will be unveiled in a new iOS application to be launched this week.

The Star Wars Blu-ray: Early Access application will arrive on iPhone and iPad this Wednesday.

It promises to offer the first glimpse at over 40 hours of features set to be bundled-in with the eagerly-anticipated hi-def release.

The application, which will feature never-before-seen concept art, props and models from the LucasFilm archives as well as new cast and crew interviews will be a free download from iTunes on Wednesday.

Sneak preview

Star Wars: The Complete Saga, set for Blu-ray release on September 16th, is undoubtedly the biggest high definition release since Blu-ray ousted HD-DVD in the great HD format war of 07-08.

Both the app and the current iteration of the Blu-ray release will be on show at the annual Comic Con expo in San Diego which kicks-off on Thursday.

We're excited to get our hands on this free app, as judging by the screenshots there looks to be a certain amount of interactive twisting and turning of concept drawings going on."

Nah, it's just a marketing thing. An app that'll probably stream the trailer and you'll be able to scroll through a full list of extras and they may include a few pieces of concept artwork.

No, its just a preview - should be on the app store later. Hopefully its not USA only.

Thats a shame if its true, I sold my dvds so I'm ready to purchase this set. Though I looked on youtube and Empire of Dreams is on it, not the same as having it on disc but at least you can still watch it. If one were so inclined they could download it and put it on a disc, if your into that sort of thing.

We don't know for sure before the Comic Con app comes out... I think. It would be a really bad move! Especially for people who haven't watched it yet or doesn't know about it. It's a fantastic doc!

I agree the Empire of Dreams documentary is one of the best movie documentaries i have seen. And its 150 min it covers almost anything.

I might have to sell my DVDs but not include the bonus disc. I've not got the outer box anymore so no-one will know the disc is missing

It would have been nice to have the uncut version of the documentary with the extras (about ten minutes was trimmed). It also would have been nice for a part two covering the prequels.

The featurettes on the prequel dvds are quite good. There's a decent one on Phantom Menace.

Yeah the documentaries are great but I think it would be nice to see a new documentary like Empire of Dreams which really encompass the gap between the trilogies, the build-up to The Phantom Menace the worlds reaction, how Lucas was affected and so on.

On the BD front I posted in the US thread the Blu's will have deleted scenes in two parts for the original trilogy comprising of 27m48s and 19m33s and the prequels will have 46m10s of deleted scenes. I hope they're excellent quality and maybe some of the un-finished Ep.III scenes will have their effects finalised.

You a "hardcore" fan then? Besides not enough time is used on the sequels, what was bad about it exactly?

I thought I saw a horrifying post on the US thread that TPM puppet Yoda is still in there I should hope not. I wouldn't mind these kind of visual changes for the PT.

Puppet Yoda in episode 1 always looked... Off, to me. So yeah, changing it would definitely be a change for the better. Might even make me interested in revisiting that movie...

I wish they'd replace the puppet in the OT too.

It looks a bit off compared with the rest but he is older. Maybe the 0s and 1s melted into silicone or whatever they used to make the puppet.
