Calling Lucas a liar is bashing where I come from. These conspiracy theories donīt proof anything but that some people know awfully little about creative processes.

By the way, ESB was produced before ROTJ so why canīt they use the meditation chamber shots?

I don't dislike the guy and have a lot of respect for him but i will never blindly believe everything this guy now says.

Also there were never supposed to be prequels. ESB was going to be Episode 2
Obviously you are not that familiar with the creative process. An idea, especially for a Story doesn't develop chronologically but rather from the inside out. That he had outlined the backstory doesn't mean that every character was in place from the beginning! Of course he hadn't conceived all the prequels in detail as he was working on the Sequel-Movies from 77-83. By the way, I'm not in the least impressed by YOUR TEMPERING with a REAL filmmakers work.

That chamber was only made for ESB and when i first saw the deleted scene it was like Luke.. Luke come to me .. on the dark side ..

to me it feels like it was taken from ESB when vader was telling luke he is his father.

Well, call it what you will, it's going to be what it is. When someone says one thing, but then later says something else that completely contradicts the original statement, and then acts as if the original statement was never made and this was always the plan, I call that lying. It would be nice if Lucas were to just friggin admit that these were the original ideas being kicked around and stop pretending like everything as it is now was "always" part of the plan. What harm is going to come from him admitting that he changed his mind? I can't see the backlash against him getting any worse than it already is.

By your standard here, calling anyone out for their wrong doings is bashing them. If someone is caught in a lie and someone else points it out, then that 2nd person is apparently bashing the first. If a person kills somebody and someone else calls them a murderer, I guess you would call that bashing as well.

LOL, I don't think he is the Real Adywan. The real guy's father is having some medical issues and I really don't think he would be spending his free time on a blu ray forum of all things.

Do i really care what you think? No.

All this has nothing to do with the creative process at all and that is a ridiculous argument for what i wrote. Yes, i know all about the creative process, but to say that "this is the way i originally intended it to be" yet has said earlier something completely different is a complete contradiction. That is what my statements were about. Things develop as you go along and things change because of plot progression and other points, so your original ideas change, but to then claim that "i had it planned out all the time.." isn't exactly a true statement now is it?

Lucas the person at the time of making the OT is not the same person now. He was deeply hurt by his divorce and even his close friends have said that he now only surround himself by people he trusts and will agree with him in his film making. It's a shame he never went out and did all those small films he always wanted to do after finishing the OT. He himself has also said that he has now become the one thing he always fought against.

Like i have said i really do respect this guy but do i think he is god and that everything he says is the complete truth like others do, then no.

I am the same person and my father sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago. We have just had the funeral and now i'm locked in a bitter battle with my brother over Dads house, so i am probably coming across a little harsher than i mean to do at the moment

I don't know which statements you mean... Lying means that he said something he knew was not true. I never heard such a thing from Lucas and I read a lot of interviews...

Andy, I am sorry to hear about your loss.

Just a side note: I am right there with ya on everything you said and have done with regards to the films.

Why ? becouse Lucas has ****ed up there child hood dream and thats the OT
That is not really true at all, at least most of the people I have spoken with that are of the same mindset. The majority don't hate him for his current artistic visions. They are dissapointed in him for trying to erase twenty years of history like it never happended.

So, you don't care what the fans think? I'm really surprised

Again, the term "planned out" is up for interpretation! You could have mapped out story-beats and central characters and situations OR you could have plot-outlines OR you could have longer treatments OR you could have already written some form of proper screenplay...

That's not apologizing for something he said. If he'd knew that everything he says get's disected like that he maybe would have clarified "how much exactly" was planned out. I don't care that much if it's an idea he had 30 years ago or recently because it's the same man. I don't differenciate that much between the old and the young Lucas...

And sure he has changed because as one can see, the prequels are films of a much wiser man - more complex and intriguing.

He just doesn't! It's not as if he had erased all traditional effects in the Sequels, the trench battle, the asteroid field and all the other stuff is exactly as it was. He could have replaced everything with CGI.

They are THE SAME MOVIES with MINOR ENHANCEMENTS!

I guess the "fans" (aka haters) just hate Lucas and literally everything he says or does just for the sake of hating him. Iīll never understand that.

He worked hard to gain his artistic freedom and made (makes) the movies he wants to make. It has to be something about that people canīt stand or are afraid of, I guess. Then again, if I donīt care for or even hate an artists work why would I bother so much instead of avoiding him and his work?

...besides, you canīt erase history anyway! What people donīt seem to understand is taht they will never see Star Wars in the year 1977 again. The films are out on nostalgic formats and will come out in their contemporary form on blu-ray this year.

Didn't they put in Ewan McGregor in one of the original movies?

I don't get it either. I guarantee that when you hear the Star Wars-Fanfare for the first time in HD-Master Audio and see the razor-sharp Opening-Scroll float into perfect black space every little bickering about Dewbacks, Spirits and Yazeems is instantly forgotten and you just say: "WOW! Let's dive into that wonderful World that is the Star Wars Galaxy!"

Then why go all crazy about the fact that Lucas added Hayden Christensen to Return Of Jedi?

That. Is. Obvious, and that statement can apply to both sides of the Star Wars debate.
