My dream is to one day own a pair of the original red and black Jordan 1s.

Still the undisputed gold standard of basketball shoes imo.

...I just can't bring myself to pay hundred of dollars for one.

The problem for me, aside from being cheap and the fact that I hate shopping, is my oddly-shaped feet.

I have a really hard time find shoes that fit.

Both in terms of length and width.

So even when I find a cool pair of kicks that I really like, chances are they won't fit.

...it's a living hell.

Those were the shit.

Jordan V's were the most popular Jordans I can ever remember from my teenage years.

The year they came out, EVERYONE had a pair.

...at least all the rich kids did.

So the next year, when the VI's came out, I spent months begging my parents to get me a pair and they finally did. But as it turned out, the reviews for the VI's were unexpectedly negative and none of the kids in my high school wore them.

...except for poor little Ray Jackson.

Some people actually made fun of how ugly they were.

It was devastating.

And then I think of how much I could probably sell them for on Ebay these days.

Nike releases iPhone cases for sneakerheads

Nike released a series of iPhone 7 cases made out of sneaker soles, complete with the treads. Each is based on an iconic sneaker's outsole, are made out of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), and are purported to be capable of protecting your iPhone 7 from most drops and scratches. There are two outsole iPhone cases: the Nike Air Force 1 case and the Nike Roshe case. The Air Force 1 case is available only in blue and is defined by the same unique deep ridges found on the tread of the actual sneaker.

The Roshe case comes in crimson and mint green (Nike calls it "Green Glow"). The Roshe case has the same famous waffle pattern found on Nike's running shoes. No word if the cases will be available in other colors in the future. Both cases retail for $35 and are available only in the US (sorry).

I'd love to trade these for one of those "cool" Nike shoes, but my damn feet are not narrow enough for them. I find Nike shoes too narrow & tight and the fact that most of their shoes don't come in wide widths makes it near impossible for me to join the Nike trend.

I have wide feet as well but Nike actually makes a few pairs of running/hiking shoes in Wide. I just bought an awesome pair from Famous Footwear last week.

These and my Saucony Omni 15s I got last week are probably my best two pairs of running shoes. Can't wait to break them in on my next two Sunday training runs. Going to try them on right now before I jump in the shower.

Not really into sneakers, as I am tall, and have a very large shoe size. And shoe store only carry up size 13. After 13, they don't even make ½ sizes. Which I feel is a very discriminatory practice. People with average shoe sizes will understand the struggle. At least people with ridiculously small feet can shop in the kid's section, and get a sweet discount at the same time. I can't. So I never go into a shoe store. Haven't been inside one for at least 20 years. I've lost my temper, and shouted angrily at the employees a few too many times in shoe stores. Always had to order shoes from a special magazine that carried big shoes, and now I shop them online.

I just got these Adidas Energy Cloud shoes for my birthday. They so comfortable and very sexy looking.

Too bad I just bought the Nike Revolution 3 shoes last month and just started breaking those in. So it looks like these Adidas shoes might have to stay in the closet as spares until the Nike's wear off...
