Almost certain the "Dec 15" date was a mistake. Amazon is showing it as Tuesday Dec 5, which makes more sense.
That Norge company that had it available to order has removed the Dec 15 date.

The Abyss showing is 7 this evening pacific time, so 3 hours, with maybe an hour of Q&A and maybe some news around 2am Eastern time.
I wish some fan of physical media will ask him about ALL his outstanding movies on UHD or at least the ones besides the Terminator movies.

I think of Avatar as a movie that was intended to be seen in 3D, and since the 16:9 ratio is the best format for that, it logically follows that the intended ratio was 16:9, since the scope version was just a crop for certain theaters.

You think it's best? I saw it in scope 3d for the TV and extended so....

Paramount has no say in how it's going to look like. That depends on Cameron alone.

The issues with Paramount are:
1. Their code doesn't work for Google/ YouTube.
2. They probably won't provide a 1080p Blu-ray disc.

Gotcha. Yeah, I wasn't sure if they ever made front page announcements without information from the studio. That explains the total lack of details. Hopefully we get confirmation in a day or two; it kinda takes the wind out of the sails of the official announcement when I've already seen the "speculative" announcement there first.

It would have Winslet at the top and Decaprio hanging on to the C. Can one of you wizz kids go to the trouble of mocking it up. The Alternative is as Disney are losing money because Streaming is not the new king of film. Instead of the Titanic it's a Disney Cruise Ship avoiding the iceberg because the live action version of The Little Mermaid melts it with the help of the cast of Buzz Lightyear and Elemental.
