Just a Superman fan making a great prediction on a box set. I certainly do not work for WB. If I were, you would not have seen this prediction.

The problem is that it comes off at quick glance as something other than a prediction. It looks official -- sort of. I would have used a phrase besides "projection" and made it more clear it was a guess or a your hopes for a list of contents. No offense.

A projection of what it might contain seems like it's a theory based on fact. And it's written like someone who knows what they're talking about, especially to the extent that you shared it with someone last year but not openly.

Well I did not want to share it openly with fans until I felt the time was right, and today the time is right.

I’m fine with the theatrical cut. I don’t really care either way. I just want it on UHD.

I think this will simply be a standard UHD release. 2 discs. I don't think they are throwing all that other stuff in. It would be nice, I guess, but not cheap and I am not sure most fans would want to pay for a bunch of versions they don't prefer.
As it is, I only want to watch the extended cut going forward. I'd watch the UHD theatrical once if my buddy gets it and lends it to me. I am sure there are some completists who want all the versions -- but I'm not sure this release is going to be a box set.
Agreed, this is going to be a 3 disc set at most, probably just 2

At the very most we'll likely get a standard 2-disc 4K set (4K theatrical and 1080p Theatrical) and then a special 4-5 disc set (4K theatrical, 1080p other cuts) similar to Blade Runner last year.

The boxset version was newly encoded in AVC unlike the original VC-1 disc. The disc included with the TV cut was the boxset version.

The 3 hour version was said to have better PQ than 151 minute version and more accurate colors -- is that true?

Why do you keep writing as if you have some inside info? You are not "sharing anything" "with fans" except an apparent wish list which any one of a hundred of us could have cooked up. You are in fact "a fan" yourself.

Then you wrote in a format that resembles a press release -- sort of. LOL

I did that same thing for Star Treks 1-6 on UHD a while back and then decided it would be both confusing to a casual reader who might take it for real and that it seemed too nerdy and would end up being totally different from whatever they will eventually decide to release. (If they ever do it at all for the Trek movies.)

You could always share it with me via PM and then officially "announce" it a few months later.

I shall now share it with all the fans...………

NEW 4k restorations of movies 1, 3-6 from the OCN
NEW Atmos soundtracks for all 6 movies.
All 3 versions of TMP (on 2 discs) and TUC (on a single disc.)
The included Blu-rays will feature the new 4K restorations.
Isolated music scores for all 6 movies.
For the first time on home video --deleted scenes from movies 2, 3, 4 and 6 &
additional deleted scenes for movies 1 and 5.
Alternate version of Star Trek V with new CGI FX via seamless branching.

I hope this was the proper time to share this with the fans in open forum.

Actually, Superman had a couple print runs with an experimental 70MM 5.1 "split surround" - the final version was used for Apocalypse Now.

Presumably the Atmos remix is based on the 5.1 elements.

Having watched all three versions of the movie recently, I prefer the theatrical the most when it's all said and done.

I would imagine it's based on the 2000 remix, which I don't mind all that much, as long as the original audio is also included in some form.

Although I'd love to hear something based on either of the 70mm mixes, I'd settle for a properly matrixed 2.0 track of the original stereo.

The Dolby Atmos remix could also be a wholly new affair depending on the input of Dick Donner and other original Superman filmmakers in this 4k overhaul.

Great, but Atmos will be welcome. There is no reason you can't have both.

Jokes on you... I look silly all the time.

Anyway, I would hope that both the theatrical and extended edition make it to UHD, but just having the theatrical on the format would be acceptable for now.

Until they release the inevitable boxset
