I’m right there with you. Pre-ordered the bundle day one. Doesn’t justify all the ignorant back and forth bullshit. Grow up. Shut up. Be patient. Be understanding.

It didn't feel like 4 months to me. Perhaps I waited a couple of weeks before ordering. I have thousands of films i haven't watched yet. I have actually seen these already so a few of more weeks doesn't bother me. As Jesse from Diabolik is one of the owners, I'm not afraid he's planning to use all the money playing internet slot machines or something then disappear. I personally am not concerned. The update said February was likely. It is still February. Perhaps there will be another update in a week? I guess we shall see. I don't see a Dorado situation here. I have been noticing a bit of a lack of exact updates for some releases. I think that is all due to the manufacturing process and they themselves are a bit in the dark.

Some people may not want to get an e-mail blast that doesn't involve them just because they bought American Rickshaw. I wouldn't expect them to take the time to manually compile each address when that could take away time for shipping DiabolikDVD orders.

There's also no guarantee that the e-mail reaches each customer. I've had packages show up that I didn't know shipped because Google automatically sent them to a promotions sub-folder I never setup. Some of them go to directly to my inbox. It's inconsistent. And that's google, one of the better e-mail hosts.

I've had three occasions where Vinegar Syndrome's automatic shipping notifications were never sent to me, I had to reach out to get a tracking number. They weren't in my spam folder, we don't know why they didn't reach me. Mondo Macabro is experiencing a similar issue with their newsletter. You have a variety of different e-mail domains, each with their own spam filter settings to potentially cause problems, as opposed to a social media blast that anyone can see and is always accessible.

I love coming on here to learn new things about this hobby but more and more I'm seeing "my way or the highway." I'm hoping it's just pandemic fatigue.
Cauldron Films is too brand spanking new to have any fanboys, or fanatics. I personally think they should have updated more frequently, and earlier than they did. However, they've posted an update and there's nothing more that they can do. The issue causing the delay is outside of their control, they'll certainly get fewer pre-orders for their next release because of this delay, but they've announced that they'll wait until closer to release for their next pre-order window, which sounds reasonable to me.

To find something to complain about at this point smacks of a sense of entitlement that some folks get because they are The Customer. We paid for a product, we're not that special and Cauldron Films shouldn't have to grovel to give us a sense of satisfaction. They are a new company on their 3rd release, and we're holding them to standards that other labels have had years to reach. It's not reasonable.

The ironic part is that this desire for more communication can have the opposite effect, and make labels engage with us even less. How many insiders have we chased away on this forum?

Their shipping is already slow enough. Placed an order at beginning of January for three items that have been in stock since the beginning of February, and still waiting on shipping. I really think Jesse is spreading himself way too thin these days.

That sounds like an oversight. I’ve never waited more than three days for shipping on in stock items. And even three days was an outlier. You emailed?

Did anyone who signed up for Cauldrons newsletter on their website get an email about news or updates on the new releases?

This forum sure has become (mostly) passive aggressive ...

Less than a year ago:
Yay. A new boutique label to release more genre movies!

Now:
F<ck. This label is nothing but delays and lack of communication!

I couldn't care less about the delays because I know I'll get it eventually.

I noticed the release date had passed, checked the item listing on Diabolik (where I ordered it from), saw the notice about the delay, shrugged and thought "Oh well, I'll get it later". With what's going on around the world with supply chains, delays are to be expected.

Before the release was announced last year I had no expectation that this product would even exist, so waiting an extra couple of months for it really doesn't put me out at all and I didn't think twice about what the company should or shouldn't have communicated, it never crossed my mind until I saw all the back & forth on this thread.

I wonder if people are as patient about delays as the guy above me with other stuff that comes out, like video games, comic books, new phones, etc., or if this is just a movie thing. I can tolerate minor delays but we're so accustomed to "Street dates" that are mostly honored that whenever something gets delayed people go into a kind of withdrawal. It's almost like they can't help but complain - it comes naturally to them. Admittedly, I've felt like pulling my hair out on occasion if it's something I was looking forward to but, in my case, I completely understand that there are unforeseen circumstances that cause issues. Some folks can't grasp that concept. I'm not into video games so I don't know but I imagine it can get pretty scary if there are delays. Some of those video game junkies are pretty rabid.

I don't give a shit about delays, they will come when they come. I'm glad that Jesse has taken effort with their new label and releasing quality stuff for us to watch, we all are currently having difficult times to so last thing I wanna do is to start harassing them about delivery schedule. I won't run out of unwatched movies while waiting.

To be fair, very few of the posts here have been complaints about the delay itself, the meat of the debate has been about the communication of the delay to consumers.

The Cauldron titles are finally finishing up and should be in stock about mid-March with the remainder going up as soon as orders are filled.

As I mentioned before, I always lean toward the customers over the company because I'm one myself and I certainly have no sense of entitlement. I guess we view things differently on what it means to be entitled. I just know that many of us work hard for what we earn and asking for proper communication isn't asking for the world. Now, should we look at both parties and understand each other's perspectives? Yes and that's why I'm not raising hell. I understand Cauldron is up and coming. So, I'm patiently waiting for a movie that I'm sure will be a quality presentation when I play it. No big deal at all. But I'm also not criticizing those who don't agree with me about the email debate. I have no problem getting updates here or on social media but I'm not going to bash those who do. People have their preferences.
Unfortunately, it seems like those asking for emails are getting pushed around here and I don't think that's cool. At the end of the day, I'm rooting for Cauldron and hope they continue to evolve and succeed in the long run.

None of the folks in this thread complaining about a lack of e-mail failed to get the update, though. It just wasn't on their terms, which is why I think a sense of entitlement is at play. You may see it as people getting pushed around, but I think of it more as self-policing. As I mentioned earlier, several official insiders(Arrow, Kino, etc.) have stopped posting here because of customers being unreasonable. So if I see posters starting to act that way, I'm going to tell them I don't think that behavior is very cool.

I don't see this as a customer vs. company issue, but rather about patience and/or maturity. I like when the labels interact with and engage the customers, and I don't like to see others post in ways that might discourage that.
