Yeah it's $10 cheaper on their Ebay site. I might go that route. If I order today I can possibly get them Tuesday.

So you have RC-10's as your surrounds now and then the fronts?

And you said by getting another pair of RC-10's made a difference when placed as your surrounds?

I wonder if I'll notice a difference when I use the RC-10's as surrounds rather than my C-200's.

Because i'm using RC-10's for fronts and surrounds I'm getting a nice even sound tonally all around. My old Infinity's were slightly warmer sounding I think and I could immediately tell the difference both in tone and detail when I connected the RC's.
Having said that, I'm not sure if you will notice as drastic a change as I did, but i'm sure you would be pleased with them.

That's what I'm afraid of. My setup sounds great, but I'm not sure if buying the RC-10's just for surrounds to match my front stage will drastically improve. Very tough choice right now especially when it's another $270

You will get more depth in the surrounds specially with movies that make good use of them like Battle of LA.

So you think I should go for the matching surrounds then?

Well it's entirely up to you I know you would have an improvement but your C-200 are way better than Mike's infinitys, it's a tough choice when you have other priorities, for me it would be worth it but the difference may not be significant enough to justify upgrading the surrounds before getting something else.

The C-200 are no slouch and are excellent for suuround duty hell they are not bad as fronts as you once had them, they are good speakers and match the RC fairly well in HT applications but you would get the same type of upgrade you got when you changed your C-C100 to your RC-LCR.

It entirely depends on you to decide if you can afford it and wife has no problem with it then it's well worth it if your budget is not too tight.

+1, I was certain you or Steve would be sounding off on this. I agree, the depth and detail I'm getting from the 10's are unreal. I've been hearing things in the surrounds I've never heard before.

By the way I rented Battle of LA a few months ago before my latest upgrades and the sound was impressive. I think I may have to revisit that one now that i have an adequate sub and surrounds.

I got Battle LA on Blu-ray too. I only watched it once, but it got me sort of dizzy.

Now, Olivier. When you said that I would get the same upgrade (C-C100 to RC-LCR) with my surrounds. That was really big difference when I did and I was so damn happy too!

So you're saying the C-200 to RC-10's as surrounds would be a one full step above in regarding that?

My C-200's did very well as fronts before and I'll never get rid of those since my girlfriend got them as a Christmas gift 2 years ago.

Default Bought the RC-10's

Well.... I pulled the trigger on the RC-10's which will replace my C-200's as surrounds. My C-100's is currently used as rear surrounds will now be replaced by my C-200's.

On their site the RC-10 speaker is 30lbs a piece?

that's great Mike, you will love them. Well they are kind of rounding off I guess. They are 27.9 pounds to be more precise. I'm thinking about wall mounting them, but I will need something very durable. They are a little heavy.

Jeez almost 28 pounds! Wow, I don't know if my current speaker stands can hold them up. That might be another problem now.

Why, are you're stands really flimsy? What brand and model do you have? Is it the Sanus stands you have?

Yeah, I have 2 pairs of the 31" Sanus stands from Amazon. I think the weight capacity is 15lbs.
"SANUS SYSTEMS BF-31B Wood Speaker Stands"

That alone would make me call Vanns right now to cancel my order. I really don't want to buy new stands.

Well, they are rated for 20 lbs, so yea you're 8 pounds over. I actually have mine sitting on a couple of wooden stands I built years ago for my old Yamaha speakers. I would try to find something to put them on or wall mount them. But that's me.
Oh, and my right surround is actually sitting in a net that is supposed to hold stuffed animals believe it or not. It's hanging there right above my head, but it works until I can get some wall mounts.

The stands I have seem to be pretty sturdy. I added support where the flat surface meets the bottom of the speaker. It was another flat piece of black wood but I'll just go with it and watch closely. It might be a stupid decision on my part for exceeding the stands limit with a heavier speaker, but if I don't think it's safe the first few hours of use then I'll just order stands that you got.

VTI right? I want something maybe over 30"s.

Yea, I have 29" stands, if I remember right its these http://www.standsandmounts.com/vtiuf...ilveruf24.aspx
They are very very sturdy, especially after you fill the front section with sand.

You think the 36" VTI stands would be okay too? I think it's just one solid arm going down the base.

I'll just play it by ear really. Let me see if my current Sanus stands can handle the RC-10's. Based on the specs between the RC-10, and C-200. They are just about the same size, but obviously the RC-10 is heavier. I wonder why?

Oh yea, I think those stands would work.

As for as the weight difference, of course you know the answer to that. The materials and components that make up the speaker are of better quality. Steve and Olivier and others I'm sure could give you a more detailed answer than that, but the bottom line is the construction and materials used add to the weight. I'm sure the magnet is pretty hefty, although I've never personally opened up the speaker to look at it.
