Just so I get you right: If I disable audio via the second hdmi out of my Panny, you think I'll get the proper TrueHD? Mind you that I think I still do have the second hdmi enabled for audio on my Panny indeed (but don't use it anymore) for historical, but obsolete, reasons. For another historical reason I am also new to lossless bitstreaming - I had to use PCM until last year when I parted with my beloved Pioneer iLink receiver (but changed the settings accordingly).

I'll check that again any rate. But again, can't say when, because busy.

EDIT: Wait a minute, you mean the BD-Video Secondary Audio option? (don't even think I can disable the second hdmi out completely, but this I can turn off)

I mean, you just made public which AVR you're using so why not go the whole way? But then again, I didn't know it's such a great secret

No, no, I'm talking about the secondary audio option:. along with Bitstream it outputs TrueHD as DD (hidden lossy core audio) which, in my case, had the missing lines.

Thx and I figured (see my EDIT) and I just checked with OFF (instead of AUTO) and same. Both Panny and Denon are telling me TrueHD and I get the missing lines. And going by the PC I'm sure I don't get the TrueHD despite being told so.

Because I had a reason to. I don't understand why people want to know such things. I'm a private person.

I'll check via good old PCM, which I've been using for years instead, later. If the lines are missing then, I sure af don't get the lossless track, but the lossy one, from this disc with bitstreaming.

Ahh, now I get what you're saying. I did not realize the connection, but it makes sense.

Eating is overrated and I just quickly checked alll 3 lines via good old PCM and all 3 lines of dialogue are "finally" gone. I simply don't get TrueHD with this disc with bitstreaming with my Panasonic despite the Denon saying TrueHD.

Bitstreaming has been a mess ever since and I never shed a tear having to resort to PCM for years and I think I'll actually switch back to PCM now to prevent the same shit happening unnoticed with other discs I don't really care about lossless vs. lossy - that's more out of principle - but I don't care about seeing TrueHD or MA anywhere either. But I guess I'll leave bitstreaming when actually watching this disc.

Did anyone get anything back from Paramount after sending them all your information? I just replied to the email that I had first got from them & nothing back yet.

I haven’t yet either….it did take me a couple days to reply to their email, since I bought my copy day one and it has been 6 months since it was released, I had to figure out where I had purchased it from to locate the receipt/POP (turned out it was Best Buy LOL RIP)…..

I been trying to keep up with all the talk here, aside from the missing dialogue part.

Could someone summary this issue about the track not playing lossless Audio? I have a Panny UB820, and a Denon X4400H. Best I can tell, I am getting Lossless audio from the Dolby Atmos track. Are some not getting lossless audio from the Atmos track?

I am definitely missing the lines of dialogue though. Getting Paramount to awknowledge the replacement program is a PITA it seems.

Could somebody confirm if the Blu-Ray packaged with the 4K the 2012 version, or a new author based on the new 4K master? (And as a follow up question, do the same AI “improvements” exist on that Blu packaged together as well?)

EDIT: I suppose, to clarify, I meant the UK / EUR UHD, since apparently the US version doesn’t even have a Blu-Ray feature, afaik.

Also based on what I’ve been reading in the thread… if I buy the UHD from the UK now, is there a chance I could get the faulty disc and should probably wait? Or would the issue have been resolved for new orders at this point?

The bluray is the 2012 master yes not the new AI one.

Any idea how long it took to get the email from them? I filled out the first form a week ago, and no email yet.

Same. But I haven't replied to the follow-up email yet. Proof of purchase crapola, yada yada yada yada. (Gotta open my shrink-wrap first, haha)

Anyone got confirmation that they'll ship out the replacement disc, and by when? Pretty sure many of us won't bother with this if it's going to a become a series of back-and-forth with the Paramount customer service bots.

If my memory is correct, they never say anything after you provide them with the requested information. One day out of the blue a replacement disc simply appears in the mailbox.

Yeah, that’s what happened with my season 3 Star Trek: Picard replacement disc.

I like to think I'm a reasonably intelligent person, but I'll be darned if I can understand the audio output options on any Panny UHD player. Every time I think I've got it right (to output the highest quality audio to my receiver), I re-read the manual and pop on Reddit and nope, turns out it's wrong.

But I must be doing something right, because my missing lines out there
