Happy New Year to all my fellow Energy owners and lovers, may this twenty-twelve begin with strengthening friendships, remembering how to dance, savoring solitude, taking chances, making moves to bring music closer. This year has to pulse with positive forces with audio by Energy.

Ok, so I guess my surrounds were mounted to high. I have now upgraded from the Polk owm3's to the Veritas VS. Before I finish everything up, please give me your thoughts on my new location of my VS surrounds. Im right at about 2' from ear level to the center of the mid driver now. Am I in the ball park now? I just want to get it right, ive only remounted one so far so please let me know if I should adjust anything.

Before

After (im moving that shelf out and also upgrading from my epik empire to the SVS PB13 Ultra)

that should be better having them lower like that. However you may want to move that tweeter out of the corner and put the speakers a little closer to the left curtian, maybe. Im kinda guessing, I have never had bi/di-poles.

I would go the same way about the VS placement, I do think it is to close to the wall, BTW it's only the midranges that are on the sides.

So Im in a dilemma. I currently have the Veritas V5.1's and V5.2 Center. I found the RC-50 for a screaming deal ($400 for the pair SHIPPED). If I return the Veritas and get the RC-50's, I will save about $400. But the catch is, I wont have a center channel for the RC-50's. Should I go for the RC-50s or stick with the V5.1/V5.2 Combo? Also, I really love the Rosenut, and the RC-50 will be black ash. But I should really care more about performance over color/asthetics. Need some opinions. Thanks!

Personally, I would keep the Veritas. Later if you want to add the V6.2s when they come back on sale, thats I would do.

Wouldn't the RC-50 be a nice upgrade from the V5.1 though? I don't have a huge budget to work with, which is why Im contemplating this.

The RC50s will give you a little more laidback sound. So they won't be exactly the same. IDK how easy it will be to get the RCLCR when that time comes for you. Unless you get it now from Vanns.com.

What you will gain will be added bass and some output, output meaning more volume of sound because it has 2 woofers. The Veritas has a better looking veneer, and a better crossover.

Default Old Veritas versus new Veritas?

I have the Energy Veritas 2.3i and 2.0ci and I am looking to replace my old Energy Take 5 speakers for surround sounds duties with the Energy V-S or V-Mini speakers for surround sound duties. I am also looking to possibly add height speakers?

How similar are the new Veritas line to the old Veritas line with regard to their sonic qualities? If different enough, I may be apt to buy a different brand altogether (i.e. Axiom QS8s) for surround sound duties and ditch the heights. Thanks!

Actually an Energy speaker remains and Energy speaker so is linear sounding and no frequencies will overkill they other ones, they will have similar sound properties although many will tell you that the old Veritas was something else all together they were certainly even better than the current Line musically speaking, if anything it will reveal even more details, they were made in Canada with extreme quality control and those old Veritas have beeen once proclaim the best sounding speakers at a show. The 2.4 actually cost 4K+ US pair back in 2004.

Well I am a sad panda today guys. The tweeters on both my C-300 towers seem to be blown. I think it happened when my wife turned up the Onkyo 3008 to +15 on the dial for an extended period of time at a house party we had. Of course I told her I never wanted the AVR turned up past the reference 0.

So now no sound comes out of the tweeters at all. Connections are good, my center channel gets sound from the tweeter when swapped with either speaker.

I am just surprised that they were easily that blown... Any other suggestions?

I do not seem to find replacement tweeters. If I cannot, my next step would be to change out the front sound stage to something new. Maybe stay with Energy or go another route... Not sure.

How does the C series compare to the CF, RC or Veritas?

That sucks man. How long have you had your C-Series? I still have my C-Series speakers and I use the C-100 as rear surrounds, as I upgraded them to the RC series for the front stage and to me, they are a complete step up from the C-Series and I couldn't be any happier. I think I saw a pair of RC-30 tower speakers selling for $399 on ebay, but I think they are used. The CF series seem to be the more common series now, but I never had a chance to hear them in person. I'm sure the rest of the guys would chime in. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear about the speaker damage.
Bottom of the bunch, but if you liked the C series, you'll probably love the others( especially the RC & Veritas ).

I have a friend at Best Buy that can get me employee pricing, so that would only be the CF line from Energy...

Always wanted some RC-50s though.

I believe I bought the C-series speakers in February of 2009

Yeah I figured that much. I am going to try and audition a bunch of speakers if I can. Having a hard time finding nice audio stores around my area though (Orlando, FL).

That sucks to hear.

So how much are you looking to spend on new speakers.

The tweeter on the cf line I think is the same as the c series. I believe the only updates were the cabinets, crossover and woofer. You could call energy/klipsch and inquire, maybe you could just replace the tweeters.

Yeah that is a thought I have.

But honestly, now is the perfect excuse to upgrade lol. It sucks because we (wife and I) were planning on finally buying a nice 60-65" tv, but now looks like speakers first again!

I am seriously considering though just getting a L/R pair of something nice for now, and then the center channel later. As far as budget, I really do not know right now. Will need to sit down and discuss with the wife. This just had to happen after Christmas
